Global Corporate Controller

The Role and Team

Productboard is currently seeking a Global Corporate Controller to lead our Accounting organization. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the technology/software space building and leading best-in-class global and distributed accounting teams in a fast-paced environment. 

In addition to leading the Company’s overall accounting operations, the Global Corporate Controller will partner closely with other senior leaders and teams across the organization to identify and implement operational improvements in order to streamline the Company’s financial operations, with a focus on increasing visibility, accuracy, speed and efficiency by leveraging technology to drive automation to support scaling for long-term growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the Company’s global accounting, treasury, tax and financial reporting functions, including operational accounting and technical accounting responsibilities.
  • Oversee and own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement close process (FSCP), including the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP, standard reporting and key metrics.
  • Develop and implement global, consistent and best-in-class accounting policies, operating procedures, internal controls, and financial systems infrastructure to support business growth, partnering effectively with cross-functional teams to identify and implement operational improvements.
  • ​​Continuously look for opportunities to optimize and automate key accounting processes to streamline operations, reduce risks and drive a faster financial close.
  • Own relationships with external auditors and accounting/tax services providers.
  • Oversee and assure international statutory reporting, audits and compliance requirements.
  • Partner closely with the Strategic Finance team in support of the annual and quarterly planning exercises.
  • Effectively lead, coach and develop talent within the organization, providing opportunities for growth and professional development.

What We Look For In You

  • 10+ years experience, including Big 4 public accounting experience and public or private company experience, with an active CPA license.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing accounting teams in a geographically dispersed environment.
  • Forward-thinking, analytical and problem-solving mindset with a desire to constantly improve the status quo.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally, adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP standards, especially ASC606, with IPO readiness experience, multi-jurisdictional tax, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
  • Experience using and optimizing ERP systems (preferably Oracle NetSuite) and other cloud-based financial systems (e.g. Salesforce, Airbase, Carta, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of the key drivers of a B2B SaaS business.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in assessing, developing, and implementing best practices, controls and systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to effectively collaborate and drive cross-functional initiatives.
  • A motivated self-starter with a high sense of ownership.

Salary Range:

NYC: $180,000-$231,000

Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.
