Position Summary: The Graphic Designer is responsible for enforcing, creating, developing, and enhancing the company's visual brand identity. This is a hands-on role that uses software and hand-renderings to design materials, products, graphics, and assets across all of Participant’s digital content platforms that align with the company’s aesthetic and ethos.

Through its worldwide network of traditional and digital distribution, aligned with partnerships with key non-profit and NGO organizations, Participant speaks directly to the rise of today’s “conscious consumer,” representing the well over 2 billion consumers compelled to make meaningful content a priority focus. Participant’s more than 100 films have collectively earned 85 Academy Award® nominations and 21 wins, including Best Picture for Spotlight and Green Book; Best Documentary Feature for American Factory, CITIZENFOUR, The Cove and An Inconvenient Truth; and Best Foreign Language Film for Roma and A Fantastic Woman.

This individual's core responsibilities include: producing graphical assets for various content formats; enforcing and enhancing the Participant brand; building-out Participant’s graphics presence across platforms; ensuring all visual, aesthetic, and graphical content adheres to the Participant editorial and visual voice.

This graphic design includes:
1. Impact Creative Production for Social Channels, Digital Marketing, and PR Opportunities
·        Impact “Call-to-Action” videos and graphics
2. Brand Building Digital Content Production/Marketing for Social Channels
·        Project announcement, festival coverage, world premiere, awards coverage, etc.
3. Sales Production
·        Creation of sales materials (key art, sales sheets, brochures) for titles 
4. Corporate Production
·        Brand and Impact reels, trade ads, campaign reels for board meetings, holiday cards, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Creative Design and Production
  • Prepare, design, and manage participant visual presentations and graphics assets production, postproduction, creative pitches, web design, social media, and more, under supervision and guidance of the Senior Graphic Designer.
  • Design title specific key art, sales sheets, brochures, corporate ads, invitations, newsletters, other corporate materials as needed.
  • Develop templates, storyboards or basic animatics for statics, motion graphics and video.
  • Participate in the creative development process, managing multiple projects at a time.
  • Conceptualize and execute graphics projects across formats for social media platforms, including video, text, static and animated images, and other interactive features.
  • Illustrate concepts by designing rough layouts for review, feedback, and approval by creative and production leadership.
  • Use software, technology, type, hand-lettering, and other artistic design tools to finalize copy, art, and layouts for various graphics projects.
  • Photograph and illustrate as needed for projects.
  • Work with printers, art services, outside vendors, and agencies as appropriate to deliver projects on time, on budget, and at the highest quality.
  • Maintain and grow technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications, attending online workshops and classes, etc.
  • Contribute to team efforts to accomplish design goals.
  • Perform basic administrative and technical duties, as needed.

  • Campaign and Digital Support
  • Conduct research on impact needs, target audiences, past campaigns, visual identities to create assets for campaigns.
  • Have their finger on the pulse of fresh, effective images and content that are breaking through the noise online. Work closely with the Social Media team to optimize assets per digital platform.
  • Work cross-functionally, collaborating with internal and external team members.
  • Collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders to develop and maintain a clear and consistent brand voice.
  • Amend and revise creative pitches and images based on internal feedback across stakeholders.
  • Support other duties and special projects, as assigned.

Skills:

  • Strong graphic design and typography skills
  • Solid eye for detail and composition
  • Ability to sketch and execute ideas quickly
  • Strong record of designing for digital audiences, and knowledge of how to optimize assets to perform well across each social media platform
  • Understanding of how to create a consistent brand presence stylistically across channels and platforms to increase brand recognition and brand affinity
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills
  • Proactive creative thinking, ability to listen and integrate feedback efficiently, and solution oriented.
  • Experience with either entertainment or social impact partners is a plus. 

Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite—specifically, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects
  • HTML/CSS web design experience a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience in graphic design and typography

  • Reports to: Director, Creative Marketing
