About the role.

As we look to reinvent our approach to embedding Tax within the business, there couldn’t be a more exciting time to be joining The Very Group Tax team. As a key team member, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance with group’s corporation tax obligations and corporation tax cash flows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering overall global corporation tax compliance including preparation of tax returns and group reporting requirements.
  • Preparing accurate income tax disclosures within the financial statements.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of tax forecasting and payments.
  • Ensuring appropriate tax governance.
  • Providing effective, timely business advisory service.
  • Managing IR35 determinations, preparing PSA and employment tax disclosures.
  • Optional experience in VAT.

About you.

We are seeking a passionate, ambitious and down-to-earth individual who is looking for an environment where they will have the opportunity to accelerate their knowledge, skills and development within a high performing team.

We are also looking for the below skills & knowledge.

  • Tax qualification (eg. CTA or ATT) with 2/3+ years PQE
  • Corporation tax knowledge of UK headed groups with global presence ideally in a listed environment
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in accounting for income taxes, with the ability to review new legislation and ascertain the impact of any changes in accounting and reporting legislation on the Group.
  • Strong self-starter with desire to improve processes and implement appropriate change
  • Proven interest in learning a business quickly and ability to take an overall view as well as delving into areas of specific detail where needed.
  • Strong project management and change management skills including a strong ability and confidence to hold others to account
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse data and identify emerging issues and trends from incomplete data

2nd Stage – A one-hour formal interview where you can expect both competency and technical questions. This will be held in person out our HQ in Speke.
