About the role

The Back-End team at Metromile lives and breathes Java, AWS and SQL. The tech stack is built on and uses several services offered by AWS. As part of a feature driven team comprising of members from the PM, Front-End, Mobile and Data Science teams you will work collaboratively to build new as well as supporting existing products. Additionally, you will collaborate with the program management team in both analyzing requirements and defining the end product.

You will

  • Develop and maintain the platform that supports our insurance operations
  • Work closely with program management and our vendors to perform integrations of new services to meet business needs
  • Work with the larger engineering team to ensure seamless integration with Guidewire, other third party vendors and internal Metromile systems
  • Develop and manage test processes to ensure quality

About you

  • 3-5+ years professional experience
  • 1-2+ years Java experience
  • 1-2+ years experience with GOSU
  • Guidewire certified
  • Development experience with Guidewire Claim Center
  • Experience working on large-scale back office services and integrations
  • Experience working with AWS
  • Bachelor’s in CS (or STEM with professional programming experience)
