The Digital Marketing team is dedicated to building and operating an efficient channel for acquiring, managing and monetizing SMB customers and free users. This is done by using digital activities to generate both pipeline for the SMB sales organization and revenue through a world class self-serve experience.
 
As the Head of Acquisition, you will be responsible for developing and executing our global multi-channel paid acquisition program to drive traffic, signups, leads, and ultimately, revenue. You will both lead an internal team and manage an external agency to execute against your strategy. You will be the paid acquisition expert within Box, often helping other business units, such as the Platform team, build a strategy for best leveraging these channels. The ideal candidate has a testing mindset, is analytically focused, and is comfortable presenting to executives to review strategy and performance. The Head of Acquisition will report directly to the Head of Digital and work closely with other members of the digital team, including Web/SEO, Online Sales, Business Analytics, and Strategy/Operations to ensure strategy alignment, identify opportunities for improvement, and communicate results. In addition, this person will work with many cross-functional teams, including building a close relationship with the Commercial Sales organization.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build and lead our paid acquisition team, responsible for managing a multi million dollar global budget that delivers a strong ROI
  • Develop, test, execute, and optimize acquisition programs
  • Manage an internal team and external agency to ensure aggressive traffic, pipeline, signups, and revenue targets are met
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in both tracking and systems, including leveraging third party platforms 
  • Leverage analytics to both continuously improve and meet or exceed business targets
  • Become a key partner for the Commercial Sales org to help set pipeline forecasts, impact hiring plans, and ensure lead quality expectations are met
  • Be the internal Box expert for paid acquisition to assist other teams outside of the digital group for both strategy and execution of their paid programs
  • Partner with marketing operations to develop successful email efforts to improve performance of paid channels
  • Partner with online sales and web teams to improve landing page and signup form experiences
  • Work with Systems, Marketing Operations and Sales Operations to ensure data is correctly flowing to various channels to qualify leads
  • Engage with Box leadership team on a regular basis for strategy, execution and performance discussions
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years experience in B2B paid acquisition channels with a proven track record of strong results
  • Expertise and/or experience across all paid mediums, including SEM, display, social, re-targeting, etc.
  • Experience with common tracking and analytics technologies such as Adobe Omniture
  • Strong background in quantitative analysis and the ability to properly set goals
  • Experience in leveraging marketing technology platforms (i.e. Marin Software) to test, iterate, and optimize
  • Excellent organization, communications, and presentation skills. MUST be highly collaborative
  • Natural leadership skills and ability to work across multiple teams and with members at different levels
