As the Head of Business Development, reporting to the CEO, you will be a key part of a new business unit connecting Cloud Academy to the cloud industry ecosystem to build partnerships and relationships with the most relevant companies in our space.

As part of our management team and first member in a Business Development role, you will work with our Sales, Content and Product leaders to create a strong value proposition that will help you build a set of strong partnerships.

In your role you create amazing partnerships with the best vendors in the market to drive growth and brand awareness for Cloud Academy and work with our leadership team to make sure that your work creates new growth opportunities for our individual and enterprise customers. We are looking for a very passionate and experienced person who has contacts and relationships in our industry and who is passionate about educating individual and companies worldwide on cloud technologies.

Superior knowledge of the cloud ecosystem (including SaaS/PaaS companies in the DevOps, Public and Private cloud) is a strong preference.

  • You live and breathe business development and technology.
  • You have highly developed and demonstrable leadership skills including managing and developing people-building high performance teams.
  • You are a strategic thinker who is comfortable in a fast-paced, always-on, highly ambiguous start-up environment.
  • You have exceptional interpersonal skills and experience building strong working relationships at all levels of management, both internally and externally.
  • You have a proven track record of consistently achieving high-growth sales targets with established technology vendors, major accounts as well as fast growing startups.
  • You have experience engaging and building relationships with high profile startups and leading technology businesses in the most senior ranks (CEO, COO, VP Product etc). Strong network in the space important.
  • You are familiar with the most popular cloud computing public and private vendors (AWS, VMware, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Rackspace etc.) and have a strong knowledge of the cloud computing ecosystem including SaaS, PaaS and IaaS vendors working with the top public vendors.
  • You have direct experience in B2B or B2C platform businesses, with developer, partnership and 3rd party ecosystems.
