The YouVersion Head of Data is responsible for the direction, coordination, and implementation of YouVersion’s data strategy. This role is accountable for understanding the overarching data needs and data literacy of various internal and external stakeholders to steer the requirements, privacy, collection, visualization, analysis, and communication of YouVersion data. This role will also be responsible for building and leading a cross-functional team.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with YouVersion leaders across product, marketing, content, and partnerships to understand data requirements and opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with other data teams in the Life.Church organization on overall data strategy and resourcing.
  • Build and lead a team of data analysts, scientists, and engineers.
  • Understand and own the privacy of user data.
  • Conduct analysis to understand the drivers of current product and marketing performance and identify new opportunities (e.g., customer segmentation, pathing analysis, A/B testing).
  • Democratize access to data throughout the team by building tools and systems that empower the Product Team to visualize data they need on their own.
  • Continuously evaluate new technologies and analytics tools, in conjunction with other data teams in the organization.
  • Curriculum Vitae reflecting proactive data analysis, distilling actionable takeaways, making recommendations, and helping the business act on those recommendations.

Skills Needed to Succeed

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to foster relationships and partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders and executive.
  • Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions,and solve problems.
  • Maintain flexibility and initiate the creation of new processes and project strategies.
  • Ability to manage conflict and differing opinions while maintaining composure.
  • Strong leadership skills and understanding ofdeveloping and guiding others.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Advanced Certification.
  • 5+years of work-related experience in data analytics, data science, statistics or a related field.
