About you

You’ll be joining the Operations team as Head of Finance Operations. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you’ll be a part of a fast-growing business that is challenging the market and doing things differently.

As Head of Finance Operations, you will be responsible for leading Treasury Operations (Back & Middle Office), Reconciliation and Billing activities and be required to execute on key activities and deadlines ensuring financial controls are maintained.

Through our banking licence and intelligent, robust technology solutions, we enable our partners to offer real-time payment and innovative banking services to their customers. We are looking to hire a Head of Finance Operations to support the Head of Operations in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the function, which will become global with international expansion. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the role will performance manage the delivery of Operations business activities to deliver the functional Scorecard objectives and will coordinate Board and Committee Reporting.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing operating bank activities in a timely manner including transaction processing, confirmation and settlement
  • Managing the opening, closing and maintenance of group bank accounts and the setup and maintenance of group operating and dealing bank mandates
  • Oversee collateral and funding management performed by the team
  • Maintaining the group treasury management systems ensuring the correct recording of all transactions (including SSIs) and overseeing technical upgrades as required
  • Issuing/Overseeing monthly reporting on Treasury activities (FX transactions (spot only) and MMF investments) to the Treasurer, CFO and CEO
  • Ensuring accurate accounting & reporting of Treasury transactions including month end close, reconciliations, mark to markets, statutory accounts and notes to the year-end financial statement
  • Ensuring effective reporting of counterparty exposure management
  • Establish detail process documentation for performing reconciliation and maintain documents to ensure they are current and result in the best operational service and delivery
  • Establish controls to ensure reconciliation is performed in a timely manner implementing a process to close the book daily. Be part of the Program management team for the Reconciliation Strategy
  • Review and implement new controls/control recommendations
  • Build and maintain strong internal working relationships across different countries and time zones
  • Improve relevant key performance indicators such as reduction of breaks, audit points, cost, and un-reconciled balances
  • Consistently monitor, track and report on performance against service level goals and benchmarks
  • Lead the team and become the focal point to business-driven initiatives, internal partners, leadership, or projects related to finance operations
  • Manage risks and quality related to accurate reconciliation including escalations
  • Oversee processing of daily cash sweeps and/or balance transfers activity for the business unit
  • Be a key player in setting the strategic direction for all aspects of the function in support of the achievement of the Company's financial goals
  • Drive and influence product roadmaps and backlog prioritisation to improve automation
  • Monitor postings and all billing to ensure compliance with established company policies and regulations
  • Review and approve billing transactions, including invoicing, refunds, credits, cash application and write-offs
  • Focus teams on scalability and resiliency and introduce internal performance SLAs/SLOs
  • Motivate staff to drive delivery and exceed targets
  • Escalate critical issues between functions to Head of Operations, for support to resolve
  • Ensure regular Management Information is submitted to the appropriate Committee in a timely manner
  • Oversight of the closure of management actions

You will be

As Head of Finance Operations you will have extensive experience of prioritising workload on a risk and capacity-based approach. You will be comfortable working in a very fast-paced environment, with a high degree of change and will be capable of managing numerous competing priorities. You must be able to think strategically, prioritise appropriately, and work well under stress. You will be comfortable managing senior stakeholders and drafting papers for senior or external audiences.

We are looking for motivated team players who are delivery focused and can suggest solutions as to how things can be done better, as we’re always looking to improve and do things differently. It is important that you have this mind-set too.

  • Leadership experience in treasury operations, billing and/or reconciliation, to successfully co-ordinate, prioritise, and deliver several concurrent initiatives with appropriate levels of governance

  • Work to tight deadlines under pressure whilst maintaining high level of quality and competency
