Your day will look a little like this:

As a our Head of IT and Infrastructure (InfraOps) at Tide, fondly referred to as a Tidean (a god like challenger of the banking world), you will be responsible for our AWS infrastructure environments, our office’s internal infrastructure in both the UK and Bulgaria, dealing with Security threats and pre-emptive measurements, importantly keep our production environments scalable and production ready through gate keeping and your devops and secops resources.

Who are we looking for?

Take ownership of Tides infrastructure, production environment and network security. Tide is a challenger bank, so we expect you to have worked ideally in a FCA or other regulated environment. Your direct reports are DevOps, DevSecOps, DBA, office Infrastructure and networks support resources in UK and Sofia. We are a native mobile first company fully utilizing cloud and integrated third party B2B services. Our core technology stacks are open source and native iOS, Android, Java, Angular, Docker, Python and our back ends are already moving to microservices. The company’s delivery culture is scalable safe agile with autonomous cross functional teams in distributed environments.

We have come from a start-up culture and are now scaling rapidly so ideally would like candidates that have experienced start-up culture, are flexible working outside of core business hours and understand the challenges involved in scaling rapidly.

As a successful candidate you will be strong in:

  • Manage effective working relationships, working closely with both senior management and all members of the Infrastructure team to ensure the wider IT team works to support the Group's business objectives, including infrastructure optimisation
  • Proven team and 3rd party vendor management skills, including motivation, development support and delegation of responsibilities
  • Ensure safeguarding of production systems by prioritizing their availability, maintainability, performance and security
  • Experience of setting up and managing strong posture for cybersecurity, threats and data security across cloud platforms and local office infrastructure
  • Ensuring 24/7 high security levels for all of our environments, threats monitoring and resolution with ITIL/retro processes
  • Ensuring the production, pre-live and post-live environments are rigorously kept production ready and commercial operations ready as well as their impact on scalability and security
  • Continuously improve a security governance framework, maintaining high security levels from cyber security threats, data breaches and GDPR compliance, working closely with development team to identify possible impact
  • Create and maintain best practice standards for Infra Ops through collaboration with Quality, 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support and release life cycle management
  • Work closely with the wider IT department and commercial teams to better understand possible impacts on live environments of projects in the pipeline, plan accordingly and helping make informed decisions
  • Create and maintain asset register alerts for tech infrastructure and software, including a track record in setting up automated monitoring and pre-emptive actions
  • Identify and drive continuous technology improvements
  • Strong experience of Disaster recovery and Business continuity implementation and scheduling regular test drills


  • Experience of OKR’s or KPI driven environments
