Head of Product Delivery, In Space Propulsion

The Head of Product Delivery, In-Space-Propulsion (ISP) leads the product delivery organisation and is accountable for delivering all Dawn satellite propulsion customer contracts.

This is a fast-paced environment. Dawn builds and ships hundreds of thrusters per year, with our products on flights to space multiple times per year. Our technology is being deployed to space faster than anything else in our class. This is an opportunity to have a significant influence on the industry.

You will have full command over all core functions required to go from a customer contract, through design, to manufacture and delivery of our products.  

Reporting to you, you will lead the Project Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to work harmoniously together. You will collaborate closely with Sales and the ISP Head of R&D.

This position reports to the CEO.  

Key Responsibilities

• Product Delivery: Delivering on all SatDrive and CubeDrive customer contracts. 
• Leadership: Inspire and guide the Product Delivery team to live out our tenets, fostering a principled and high-performance work environment.  
• Team development: Develop each team leader, and assist each manager to build a high performance team of their own.  
• Collaboration: Collaborate with the ISP R&D team to take on new standard product designs and improved ways of working. 
• Production Management: Plan capacity with Sales to coordinate when new contacts can be taken on, and when capacity can be increased.  
• Reporting: Report progress to the executive team.  
• Process development: Identify and implement new and improved processes to increase production capacity, quality and reduce costs. 

Requirements

Mandatory:

• Demonstrated experience bringing new product to market, and scaling output fast.

• A proven track record of developing and managing high performance teams and culture 
• Recognized for delivering exceptional service to both internal and external clients, consistently exceeding their expectations and needs.
• A background in aerospace, engineering, or a related field.
• Pragmatic, results driven mindset
• Minimum of 8 years experience in a relevant field
• Demonstrated entrepreneurial approach, natural tendency to take ownership and overcome the unexpected as well as matters you have limited control over.
• Ability to work at the coal face with the team to push things forward using your best practice capability.

Highly Desirable:

• 10+ years of propulsion design and/or manufacturing experience
• An in depth understanding of our type of customers
• Experience in a start-up
• Understanding of engineering process, PDR, CDR, PRR, QA/PA/QC, etc.
