We have built an exciting software tool which fundamentally changes how companies who sell insurance can design and deliver insurance products to the market. We work directly with Insurers, Managing General Agents (MGA’s), and Brokers. Using leading-edge technologies, INSTANDA insurance software is entirely configurable from the ground up. It is not a one-size-fits-all model. We allow companies to use insurance software in the way they want to. Founded in 2012, we spent several years designing and building the platform which is now being used globally by some of the world’s largest insurance companies. With just 20 employees in the company in January 2017, INSTANDA now has over 100 employees based in the UK (London, Histon, and Huntingdon), and US. JOB DESCRIPTION

Based in London, and reporting to our CEO & co-founder, we are seeking a Head of Talent & HR to join our team. We are seeking a proactive, smart individual who is comfortable making decisions with little guidance. You must have a strong understanding of HR, Recruitment, how a business operates, coupled with the understanding of the nuisances behind a fast growing business. This role has 2 direct reports (Recruitment Manager and Office Manager). There are many fun and interesting projects on the horizon looking for the direction of a passionate HR professional. Our CHRO is stepping out of the business after 4 years with the company for personal reasons, but will be available as a sounding board whenever needed. This is a very fun business. We have a lot to do and are looking forward to having a passionate, dedicated, and self starter joining the team to lead this function!

Responsibilities of this role include aligning with our SMT and Leadership Team on the strategy and OKR’s (objectives and key results) for our Global HR & Talent initiatives.

The areas to manage and execute on include:

  • Manage a team of 2 (Recruitment Manager and Office Manager)
  • Own Recruitment (recruitment budget, job postings, interviews, offer process, executing EQ/IQ tests for senior roles, referencing, pre boarding, structure on boarding, probation, refine off boarding)
  • Partner with the Leadership Team to build and maintain and employer brand that attracts and retains the top talent
  • Manage our SaaS HRIS, bob
    • Create, refine, and maintain automated workflows
    • Creation of new employee profiles
    • Prepare reports/stats for HR & Talent KPI’s
    • Manage Documentation within bob
    • Execute surveys to understand Employee Engagement
    • Manage and maintain benefits within bob
  • Manage our ATS, Workable
  • Participate in the IR35 and ISO process certifications
  • Manage, oversee, and administer the Learning & Development (L&D) benefit
  • Oversee management of offices and office events
  • Partner with the finance team to review monthly Payroll
  • Own Performance Management for the company – company Goals & OKR’s
  • Employee Relations
    • Probation Management
    • Having disciplinary conversations, administering PIP’s, corresponding with lawyers when needed
  • Organization Management
    • Job analysis and job design
    • Develop an exceptional employee experience to retain and promote our talent
    • Manage our “integrated career framework”
    • Manage employee benefits globally
  • Develop a programme of leadership & management training that makes a direct impact on our collective performance and raises the capability of our senior team (and first time managers - because we promote from within alot!)
  • Be a key member of our Covid Committee to help prepare for Return to Work
  • Manage Compensation & Benefits Framework (benchmarking, bonus, salary increases)
  • Manager Vendor Contracts (Experience, Recruitment Agencies, HRIS, ATS)
  • Write presentation decks for internal meetings
  • Represent the HR & Talent Team at meetings (internal and/or external)
  • Execute on the HR admin requirements for the business (create template forms, manage the employee handbook, update policies in accordance with local legislation, etc.)
  • Miscellaneous items as they arise

Requirements

  • A degree in business, technology or any related discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years combined professional experience in Recruitment and HR
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience within a high growth organization
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience working for a tech company
  • Strong leadership skills coupled with a hands-on approach for new and/or changing initiatives
  • Effective and collaborative communication at all levels
  • Methodical and logical way of delivering messages to stakeholders (internally and externally)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Confidence to make decisions and execute on new issues
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High level of resourcefulness as you can expect daily questions on items that have not yet been defined within the organisation
  • Business experience that allows you to ask the right questions at the right time
  • Interest and passion to enhance the high growth business
  • Intuitive with a strong emotional intelligence
  • CIPD or similar qualification is an asset
  • International experience is an asset, particularly the US
