Head of UX (UX Team Manager)

Our mission is to enable everyone in SEA to shop online, compare prices and enjoy impartial product information through our catalog aggregator platform. With more than 1000 partners on our platform, 150 employees, and 16M monthly page views we are well setup for that - and hungry for more. E-commerce in SEA is still in its infancy compared to markets like Europe or America and we believe we can play a bigger role in the ecosystem.

The next step for iPrice’s growth can be summed up in one word: users. We have so much to learn about our users and the SEA e-commerce market as a whole. We want to scale our user experiments and research to create an excellent experience for the 16M+ of our monthly visitors. And the UX Team will be play a central role in the next stage of our company’s growth, which is why we need an experienced UX Team Manager like you.

The UX Team at iPrice is a tight-knit, diverse group of 6 members from Indonesia, Russia, Malaysia, and America. We are all eager to grow ourselves through constant learning and feedback. This culture encourages an ego-less approach in the way we deal with others. We are always willing to help one another and other departments (in fact, we constantly win company awards for it!) You will be expected to fully contribute and grow this culture as we scale our team.

Requirements

To be a successful UX Team Manager at iPrice, you need to embody excellence in these areas:

Coaching

  • This is a management role, which means your primary responsibility will be growing the skills of the UX Team.
  • The team will look to you as an expert in many aspects of UX and improve the overall team skills in:
    • User-Centered Design
    • Mobile Usability and Accessibility
    • Mobile Interface Design Patterns
    • Interaction Design
  • Each UXer at iPrice work every day in an embedded Scrum team, so the ability to coach them to thrive in an Agile environment is an absolute must.
  • We will look to you as a leader in evangelizing a user-centered culture in the team and at iPrice
  • User-Centered Design
  • Mobile Usability and Accessibility
  • Mobile Interface Design Patterns
  • Interaction Design

Product Priority & User Strategy

  • Can you coach the team in generating new insights and initiatives based on user insights and data?
  • Can you coach the team in validating your hypotheses through usability tests, variable testing, and data?
  • Can you coach the team in superbly articulating the “whys” behind their design decisions?
  • Can you read through the backlog and understand which UX activity will be required for each initiative and coach the team in conducting these activities?
  • Can you coach the team in leveraging user research and data to effectively influence the product backlog?
  • Can you promote a team culture of continuous value delivery through a build, measure, learn cycle of small steps?

Case studies in leading previous UX Teams are a must! Your compensation will reflect your past experience and capability to further a user-centered process at iPrice. We will place a priority for qualified candidates from the Southeast Asian markets we serve.
