HR Associate (Temporary & Part-Time)

We are looking for a temporary HR Associate to the Talent and Culture (T&C) team to support the operational aspects of HR at Wikimedia Foundation. The position is part time (up to 30hrs/wk), based in San Francisco and reports to the Director of HR.

Role Focus

  • Generate timely offer letters, ensuring accuracy, compliance and an exciting start
  • Coordinate compensation program
  • Maintain documentation of promotions, changes in staff, structural reorganization and contractor detail
  • Support active immigration cases, including collaboration with outside counsel and any troubleshooting
  • Support international contractors process, including vendor communications and contractor experience
  • Assist with the set-up and roll out of a new HRIS, including documenting team workflows
  • Update employee files to meet document retention policy
  • Support T&C events
  • Support T&C related committees with project work, including diversity, career paths, engagement
  • Assist Benefits & Wellness projects as needed
  • Provide support on other HR operations related items as needed

Required Skills

  • 3-5+ years experience in a HR capacity ideally for an international organization
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Psychology, Communications/English or related field
  • Experience coordinating offers, promotions and compensation processing
  • Proven track record of handling confidential and sensitive information with grace and care
  • Amazing attention to detail, and proven track record of meeting deadlines
  • Must know the immigration process, with at least 1 year immigration experience
  • Experience with HRIS set-up preferred
  • Able to work in an open, transparent and collaborative environment, while respecting HR confidentiality
  • Sense of humor is always valued!

Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of the wiki environment or the open source movement
