Associate HR Business Partner (HR Leadership Development Program @ Pivotal)

***Must be enrolled in school with a Graduation Date of December 2016 - July 2017***

Working in the Human Resource Leadership Development Program (HRLDP) at Pivotal means being part of a team that helps drive our business forward each and every day in truly special and impactful ways.

The HRLDP at Pivotal is a challenging rotational program that gives participants developmental and leadership opportunities across the People organization. As part of the HRLDP program, participants will experience 3, nine month rotations in either HR knowledge center or HR business partner roles.

Some potential rotations include: People Solutions Specialist, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HR Business Partnership within a variety of functional organizations (Engineering, Field, G&A, Labs, etc).

Participants will also have the opportunity to gain hands on, project based experience, on strategic HR priorities in addition to their rotational work. The projects could span across many different HR functional areas including: Learning and Development, Benefits, Compensation, Organizational Development, HR programs, HRIS, Reporting and Analytics, Global Mobility, and Recruitment. Beyond the program, rotators could go into a variety of roles on the People team based on individual goals and aspirations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding and be able to articulate Pivotal’s value proposition and our core line of business.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders across the company: employees, managers, leaders, HR business partners, recruiters, People team members
  • Deliver excellent employee experience by solving a wide range of employee and manager requests.
  • Determine and respond to customer needs, help the customer solve business problems and achieve their goals
  • Pair with other team members (when applicable) to solve problems
  • Understand and apply agile methodologies to People related challenges  
  • Use data to drive thoughtful problem solving
  • Represent Pivotal core values and curate our culture through People processes and solutions  
  • Participate in People Team projects to design and create HR programs and practices for Pivotal (examples of potential projects include, Rewards & Recognitions approach, Learning & Development offerings, Career Pathing, Employee Communications, Compensation Programs, Relocation Assignment Program Management)

Qualifications:

  • Previous HR experience or experience in high tech companies desired (through internships, projects, etc)
  • Strong ability to efficiently manage your time to many competing, yet equally compelling priorities.
  • Willing to take initiative, be a self-starter and thrive in taking a hands-on approach to challenging work.
  • Able to think on your feet and solve problems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility - comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment demonstrated through working on multiple projects at the same time within tight timelines
  • High interest in leadership roles within the HR function
  • Desire to work in teams or pair with other members of the People team on projects/initiatives
  • Interested in learning different ideas and concepts related to People strategies
