Human Resources Operations Administrator

Reddit is seeking a self-motivated, experienced HR Operations Administrator to collaborate with and provide support to our People & Culture team. The ideal candidate will be a tech-savvy, proactive, and meticulously organized problem solver who can flourish in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role requires someone with a commitment to excellence and the ability to work well with others to ensure the success of the organization as a whole.


  • Maintain employee data in BambooHR (Reddit’s HRIS)
  • Create and maintain all employee files
  • Review candidate documentation and run background checks
  • Partner with our friends on the Finance team to ensure new Snoos are paid according to their start dates, receive any relocation/signing bonuses, and are set up correctly for deduction of taxes
  • Keep our pals in Legal happy by ensuring compliance with the I-9 process (including E-verify for remote employees in required states), State and Federal reporting, and background checks as well as partner to manage immigration process
  • Be the helpful People & Culture point of contact for all employee inquiries: from questions about benefit coverage, to address updates, to family expansion support
  • Manage and administer all Reddit benefits, partnering with our benefits broker
  • Administer and support all leave programs
  • Respond to employment verifications, unemployment claims, and other external personnel data requests
  • Generate reports for auditing purposes, comp reviews and other ad hoc requests
  • Maintain the People & Culture portion of the Reddit wiki
  • Update and maintain a compliant, yet human, employee handbook
  • Seamlessly manage employment terminations: system shutdown, paperwork generation, and offboarding coordination


  • 3+ years experience in an HR support role
  • Working knowledge of HR system (preferably BambooHR,, and Paylocity)
  • Experience managing or supporting benefits programs
  • Previous experience in a startup tech environment a huge plus
  • Strategic and proactive ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and with minimal direction
  • Ability to perform duties with a high level of confidentiality and can be trusted with sensitive information
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and can work well with different personalities in the organization
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Hyper organized and conscientious, with ridiculous attention to detail
  • Strong sense of urgency, with an understanding that responsiveness is the key to success in this role
