HVAC Technician


  • Must be able to install, repair, adjust, maintain and troubleshoot the following equipment:
    • Chillers and associated pumps/ valves
    • Refrigerant controls and metering
    • Humidifiers
    • All types of compressors
    • Heat Pumps to 15-ton
    • Split systems to 25-ton
    • Packaged units to 100-ton
    • Ductless split systems
    • Electric Motors and associated controls (3-phase and 1-phase) such as contactors, starters, and relays
    • Various types of water pumps
    • Intake and exhaust fans
    • Heating systems (furnaces, boilers, strip heat)
    • Economizers
  • Must be able to braze and solder using industry best practices.
  • Utilize software programs like email and the request ticketing system in the day-to-day business operations of the company.
  • Have high regard for personal safety and safety of others and driving a culture of Safety Excellence.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of modern HVAC/R equipment and systems.
  • Must be EPA 608 Universal Certified.
Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Familiar with commercial building codes and knowledge of 2014 California Title 24 Building Code.
  • Thorough knowledge of materials, equipment, methods and tools of the HVAC/R trade
  • Able to read, interpret and understand technical language in specifications, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Understanding of the basic refrigeration cycle and electronic/electrical theory.
  • Have a strong work ethic and a hands-on “can-do” problem solving attitude.
  • An excellent verbal and written communicator.
  • Previous service management, supervisor, or leadership experience.
  • Skill in reading technical instructions related to the trade in order to comprehend written work instructions, equipment operating instructions, and/or other documents related to the job functions.
  • Able to work in a manufacturing atmosphere safely and follow safety practices and regulations.

Additional Requirements:
  • Able to stand, crawl, walk, and stoop; push, pull and lift or lower objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work under adverse conditions (e.g., dirty, noisy, or confined spaces etc).

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
