LendInvest is hiring an

In-House Legal Counsel

London, United Kingdom

We are looking for a bright and ambitious junior to mid-level solicitor to join our Legal Team on a full time basis.

Reporting to and working closely with our General Counsel, you’ll be providing support across the whole business on a range of legal issues relevant to a fast-growing, innovative business. Working closely with each of the business teams, you will be a valued team member with a valued input.

Your workload will vary and you’ll soon pick up experience in all aspects of the business: corporate, real estate, fund raising, investing, commercial contracts, IP and trademarks, employment, conveyancing and lending and transactional work - if not already, you will soon become a well-rounded solicitor capable of taking on any challenge. There will never be a dull moment!

You will have trained at a leading law firm and either worked there or in-house post-qualification. General corporate or commercial legal experience would definitely be a plus, as would experience in fintech, property and financial services. Above all, you will be bright, ambitious and willing to get stuck in. New projects and challenges will be welcomed with enthusiasm.

You’ll be approachable and have great people and communication skills; being able to work with and discuss legal issues at a very high and equally low level. You’ll be looking for somewhere to work with responsibility and great opportunities for career development.

You will have experience in some or all of the following and will have an enthusiasm to develop in the areas in which you do not already have the experience:

  • Reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Researching and reporting on legal and regulatory topics
  • Managing our NDA register and reviewing NDAs
  • Assisting with our IP Portfolio and assisting with infringements
  • Assisting the lending deal team with conveyancing, lending and security queries
  • Working on standard lending documentation, producing standard conveyancing documents like reports on title and valuation reports
  • Assisting with recoveries and litigation matters
  • Assisting with our online platform, monitoring platform user terms, privacy policies and website terms
  • Horizon scanning to keep on top of what’s happening in FinTech, property and finance to spot legal and regulatory challenges
  • Acting as a key point of contact for our conveyancing and transactional lending lawyers
  • Being as comfortable taking the lead on some projects, as collaborating with team members on others
