Indirect Purchasing Manager (Engineering Services)

As Indirect Purchasing Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with a cross functional team among engineering, finance, legal and others and contribute to building the car of the future.  You will lead and drive the purchasing strategy in engineering services and be a pivotal member to building the car that provides the ultimate user experience
 
Responsibilities:

·         Plan and implement purchasing strategies for engineering services
·         Collaborate with engineering, gather requirements and work with a cross functional team among engineering, legal and finance to execute purchases effectively and efficiently
·         Develop suppliers, prepare and ensure timely response from suppliers
·         Initial review of robustness of quote from the suppliers, review and assist in negotiation of best in service providers, piece price and related tooling cost
·         Lead market intelligence and provide advice on key areas such as local labor rates, tax exemptions, government policy, duty rates and automotive regulations – which may affect local cost base
·         Support engineering, supply chain, marketing, IT, HR, admin and other functions, as and when required in evaluating potential suppliers and providing an interface between supplier and other functions.
·         Present key supplier data to support purchasing and all other function’s sourcing decisions, such as quality performance, customer base, and delivery performance, level of quality accreditation, technology/process capability and design & development capability.
·         Negotiate pricing and drive cost reductions to meet financial objectives
·         Optimize the purchasing process and related processes

Requirements
 
·         Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Business, MBA and/or JD a big plus
·         3 to 5 years purchasing or consulting experience in high tech, manufacturing or related industries, automotive industry background is preferred
·         Strong negotiation skill and good business judgement
·         Strong communication and project management skills, strong power point and excel skills
·         Ability to work under pressure and independently with minimum supervision
·         Attention to detail and ability to multi task
·         Mandarin speaking is a plus
