Position Overview


Rent the Runway is looking for an Inventory Manager to manage the daily processing and overall accuracy and integrity of our inventory. Reporting directly to the Inventory Senior Manager, the ideal candidate will manage all new inventory receiving and processing, sortation and management of sample sale inventory and execution of liquidation strategy and work collaboratively with our partners on the Repair and Fashion Team to ensure timely resolution of any inventory issues. This position is based in our Secaucus, NJ warehouse.



  • Ensure efficient and accurate receiving of all new dress, accessory and saleable inventory on a daily basis
  • Maintain storage of sample sale inventory and process and distribute inventory to liquidation sales
  • Partner and communicate with Fashion team on all inventory-related issues
  • Prepare and analyze monthly reports to surface and problem-solve inventory issues
  • Monitor performance of dresses by reviewing damage and quality statistics, identifying trends and providing feedback to buying team to influence stock buying decisions
  • Hire, train, and manage a small staff made up of Team Leaders and line staff (including, but not limited to, providing input on hiring, training, evaluating, and developing team members)
  • Drive performance and process changes based on lean initiatives to drive operational efficiency and quality customer service
  • Understand the entire fulfillment process and the cause and effect of upstream and downstream activities
  • Support Senior Manager in relevant project work




  • Requires a bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated experience managing people and teams (2+ years), preferably in logistics-focused role
  • Hands-on, "get-it-done" attitude; comfortable taking ownership and executing changes based on sound research; must also be able to adapt quickly and make changes in short period of time in start-up environment
  • Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Proactive and collaborative approach; service-oriented
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and listening skills
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office Suite Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Some Saturday and holiday work required, particularly around Christmas and New Year’s Eve
