Aeris Technologies Inc. is seeking an experienced IoT Embedded Engineer to join our team in Hayward, CA.

As an IoT Embedded Engineer at Aeris, your focus will be on improving the connectivity of Aeris’s gas analyzers and working with the technical team to design and architect new network attached products.

This position requires to work directly with scientists, engineers, and technicians in the development, production, and maintenance of network attached Aeris analyzers.

Responsibilities

· Update and upgrade integrated network connectivity and network architectures for Aeris analyzers, especially related to cellular and satellite modem connectivity

· Develop efficient firmware and APIs for network scheduling and queueing, remote actuation, remote maintenance, data management for wireless sensor networks

· Develop power efficient, robust data transfer into cloud databases with near-zero data loss

· Develop network health and other related metrics

· Document network configurations and methodologies

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields

· 4+ years of industry experience as an IoT Network Engineer

· 4+ years of hands-on experience in IoT Network Engineering

· Previous success in implementing hardware level through database/web interface level solutions related to network connectivity

· Strong knowledge of Embedded Linux, network drivers, and communication protocols

· Python or bash scripting familiarity

· Works independently and as a member of a cross functional team

· Self-motivated and highly organized with strong interpersonal skills

Desired

· Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics

· Knowledge of wireless sensor and actuation network mesh architectures and gateway configurations, OSI model, TCP and UDP stacks

· Hands-on experience in JavaScript / Node.js, AWS interfaces, PostgreSQL related to network data collection

· Ability to comprehend and apply principles of the mathematics of networking, i.e., queueing theory, graph theory.

· Experience with ARM embedded Linux environments

· Ability to run small to medium sized projects

· Experience troubleshooting and configuring low-level Linux drivers and software packages
