The Director of IT is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the company’s IT strategy. The IT Director will have a strong knowledge of current and future technological solutions to formulate an overall IT direction, leveraging techniques and technologies to provide competitive advantages for the company. The IT Director will have responsibility for developing, maintaining and executing best practice processes and procedures to assure the quality of IT systems and solutions. The position will provide project leadership for critical business system implementations; provide daily technical, administrative and supervisory oversight for the IT team, including mentoring, resource allocation, goal setting and performance evaluations.

The three major focus areas are:

  • 3rd Party Applications & Collaboration Tools
  • Office Infrastructure, Security and Support.
  • Call Center Infrastructure tools.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible to drive the IT strategy and execution (including stake holder management, user training and adaptation) through driving work efficiency and collaboration for Careem.
  • Directing the effective delivery of networks, development, and disaster recovery systems and processes
  • Will plan, coordinate, direct, and design all operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents and execute these in line with Careem business objectives
  • Formulate and deploy the operational direction for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost effective information processing and communications technologies.
  • Develop and manage IT budgets and ensure they comply with stated goals, guidelines and objectives.
  • Review performance of IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels and upgrade requirements.
  • Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT Systems
  • Oversee provision of end-user services, including telecommunications, help desk and technical support services.
  • Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provisioning.
  • Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the company’s executives, managers, and end users regarding IT activities.
  • Manage hardware and software vendor relationships
  • Establish positive and collaborative relationships with IT leadership and customers; demonstrate a clear understanding of both internal and external customer's business and works collaborative to successfully delivery value
  • Develop and execute behavioral change management plans to ensure project management adoption of new systems and processes; incorporate industry best practices, conduct internal and external benchmarking, and implement standards, key measures and metrics
