About the Role

Glassdoor's B2B product & engineering team builds innovative tools for companies to lead their Glassdoor profiles. These include review analytics and sentiment dashboards, brand management features, and other analytical tools.

As a Java Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to take the lead on building innovative new features, and you'll collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design leaders to help scope and plan efforts. You'll have ample opportunities to both learn and chip in.

We use technologies like Java, Spring, Node, React, and GraphQL in our day-to-day work.

What You'll Do

  • You have a passion for crafting high-quality services and APIs, and enjoy working closely with other engineers.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and enjoy giving thoughtful feedback on things like pull requests and product specifications.
  • You enjoy working closely with team members in different fields (engineering, product, and design) during the software development process.
  • You recognize the value of shipping, and are able to make good trade-offs in order to get something into the hands of customers.
  • You take great care when designing and architecting services and APIs.
  • You understand the value of testing, and make good decisions about what to test when building software.

What You’ll Bring

  • A commitment to add to our culture of DEI
  • 4+ years building high-quality, secure services for high-traffic websites.
  • Experience with Java or similar object-oriented language.
  • Experience with Spring or another dependency injection framework.
  • Experience with relational databases like Postgres, MSSQL, or MySQL.
  • Experience designing and building RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
  • Experience building products and services in an agile environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communicator.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a technical field (Engineering, Math, etc), or equivalent work experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AWS technologies like Lambda and SQS.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch and Redis.
  • Full-stack experience with React, Node, NPM, CSS, and other front-end technologies.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary Range*: $126k - $189k

  • Glassdoor base salaries are targeted to the market 75th percentile for technical roles and the 65th percentile for non-technical roles. In other words, 65-75% of comparable organizations in our industry will pay less.

Annual Bonus Target**: 10%

**Bonuses are paid in 6-month intervals, aligning with bi-annual performance evaluations

Generous Restricted Stock Units (RSU):

***Restricted Stock Units (RSU) are awarded at hire and may be refreshed annually. Additionally, as a pay-for-performance company, RSU grant awards are presented bi-annually to exceptional performers.
