How you’ll make an impact:
CI&T is expanding the team in Portugal and is looking for an experienced Java Engineer to build a brand new product for one of the UK's biggest telecom companies, working in their start-up incubator, accelerating the build and launch of an MVP for a new type of service for the company.
What will you be doing?
You are going to be responsible for:
- Design and implement software solutions, working closely with teams in Portugal, the UK and Brazil.
- Helping code a digital and innovative solution for an important British client in the telecom field.
- Assisting in the technical application definitions of the client-side architecture, participating in inception, planning and design meetings in order to direct the development in a scalable and sustainable way. This includes real business challenges with the client and the team, exchange of experiences and knowledge with the project's peers, and knowing and learning about product conception and design.
You will also need to be comfortable working in hybrid and distributed teams, especially in an environment with high exposure to the client.
What do you bring to the role?
We are looking for someone with the following attributes:
- Strong experienceof experience working with Java 8+ in a web applications / backend context
- Strong experience designing and developing distributed systems
- Strong experience developing in a microservices architecture style ideally with Spring, SpringBoot or Quarkus
- Strong experience developing in an event-driven / reactive architecture style and consuming APIs
- Strong experience working with data; i/o, processing and storage using both RDMBS and NoSQL styles
- Thorough understanding and applied experience of web security and encryption concepts
- Thorough understanding and applied experience of Java best practices and design patterns
- Strong experience of unit testing
- Experience with Docker and git
- Good understanding of Java-based DevOps
- Strong experience working in highly collaborative agile teams
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, pragmatism and a delivery mindset
- Good English communication
Nice to have
- Computer Science or Engineering-based degree
- Experience with reactive programming concepts (WebFlux, ProjectReactor, Rx4j or similar)
- Experience working in FinTech
- Experience working on in B2C mobile application-focused teams
- Experience working with AWS services
- Experience deploying Spring Boot microservices within an AWS/ EKS/ Fargate context as a bonus
- Experience in building MVPs with a mind to scaling
