We are looking for a Junior Controller to join our team as we experience significant growth. As the Junior Controller on our team, you will be an integral part of our financial operations. The ideal candidate will feel at ease working in a lean environment where their contribution is critical and valued. You will play a part in all corporate accounting functions including monthly close, annual audit and tax returns with external accounting firm, as well as managing payroll & benefits administration. Additionally, the position will partner with CFO on FP&A, financial modeling/budgeting, KPI tracking, investor/lender reporting and M&A. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparation of timely monthly financial statements including the analysis of company performance vs. prior periods, years and budget
  • Manage all aspects of accounting functions and the month-end close process (G/L, A/P A/R, etc.), account reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP
  • Own monthly and quarterly investor reporting
  • Documentation of processes and policies across financial and operating cycles
  • Prepare quarterly lender reporting and compliance documents
  • Work with CFO in budgeting processes, and prepare budget and monthly forecast with necessary supporting documentation and justification
  • Assist in the analysis and execution of acquisition opportunities
  • Manage, oversee and mentor Staff Accountant, as well as other individuals across various functions
  • Analyze large sets of data across finance and business operations to provide recommendations for improved performance
  • Work with Staff Accountant to oversee sales billings and collections
  • Administer commission calculations
  • Collaborate with engineering & product team to ensure internal use software costs are properly being tracked and capitalized in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with management of payroll and benefit functions in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Work with our outside CPA firm to ensure timely issuance of our annual audit and tax reporting
  • Prepare and analyze cash flow reports
  • Complete ad hoc projects as requested by the executive team
  • Help manage general administrative aspects of the company's operations including HR/Talent Management, contracts, insurance, stock options, and legal

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • CPA required
  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and understanding of financial statement preparation and management reporting
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Quickbooks and bill.com
  • Prior exposure to multiple revenue streams, including subscription
  • Comfortable working alone and with a team; you are able to set and meet your own milestones 
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and able to manage competing priorities
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, project management and investigative skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail on both form and function
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven, dynamic work environment; Can manage multiple competing priorities

  • Startup, SaaS, and/or experience at private equity backed companies
