KYC Area Lead

Your mission: 

TransferWise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their hard-earned money with the world’s first platform to offer true multi-currency banking

Your mission is to build efficient processes and teams that put our customers first while being aware of the risks surrounding the industry, specific products and requirements set to us by regulators and partners. You’ll lead a KYC regional team, the first line of defence in anti-money laundering, counter terrorist financing and fraud prevention  ensuring  seamless KYC experience and safety for our customers across the globe. 

Here’s how you’ll be contributing to the KYC team:

  • Build clear strategy and goals for the regional operations team
  • Develop team leads and help them grow strong independent teams with scalable skills 
  • Understand, plan and optimise team resources and efficiency
  • Set, review and follow-up dynamic performance targets  
  • Ensure all regulatory and partner compliance requirements are met and KYC processes are efficient
  • Collaborate closely with product and other operational teams to deliver, compliant customer convenience methods
  • Proactively seek and drive cross-regional change/improvement projects
  • Clearly communicate goals, insights and roadmap to your team and the wider company. Provide constructive feedback to other teams across the organisation
  • Create a customer-focused culture that has a clear understanding of risk and an innovative can-do mindset that achieves both the regulatory objectives and a great customer experience

About you: 

  • You have passion for customer experience, technology, leading people and teams
  • You have relevant knowledge and experience of the compliance domain
  • You have min. 3 years of experience in a leadership role
  • You have solid skills in prioritising as well as ability to multi-task and take responsibility in difficult situations
  • You’re able to analyse, manage, delegate and oversee cross-team projects
  • You have good interpersonal and communication skills to navigate in a global, mainly English-speaking work environment
  • You have strong analytical skills and experience in forecasting and short/ long term planning
  • You have proven record of taking individual ownership and responsibilities as well as being a great team-player
  • You can be flexible with working-hours as you’ll get to work with multiple offices and time-zones
  • You are legally authorised to work in Hungary.
