Trustpilot is hiring a

Lead Data Analyst

London, United Kingdom

We’re a leading online reviews platform, free and open to all. Our mission is to be a universal symbol of trust. We are well on our way - but there’s still an exciting journey ahead of us. Do you want to join us?

You will have complete ownership of the Product or Trust analytics function. This is a leadership position within the team that requires building relationships and understanding with managers of cross functional work streams to determine what needs to be delivered and when from within your function.

Day to day, your focus is on prioritisation of the work at hand and being a technical leader within your team. You’ll assist data analysts with developing the correct solution for the problem at hand, and give them technical advice and support when necessary. You’ll work in an agile manner, setting achievable deadlines and goals for your team, ensuring continuous delivery at pace.

You’ll take on some of the more sensitive projects yourself, delivering exceptional insights that determine how to drive our business forward from within your sphere.

We expect you to keep a pulse on what’s going on, build relationships across the business, and anticipate needs of stakeholders before they ask by taking a long term view of the function as a whole.

To succeed in this role you will have a strong technical background as a Senior Data Analyst and be comfortable operating in an unstructured environment. You should be endlessly curious about data and how it can be used to unlock opportunities and change the way we work. You can proactively identify problems and opportunities from data, communicate them clearly to stakeholders and leadership, and offer data-informed suggestions and solutions.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Delivering insights to all parts of the business, through both work stream-driven initiatives and ad-hoc inquiries
  • Working closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs relative to both self-service capabilities and insights
  • Working closely with programme managers and workstream managers to determine scope, with Trust stakeholders, of key initiatives
  • Prioritisation of all Product or Trust data asks, and collaboration with other leads on the analytics team to ensure the work is assigned to the correct function
  • Mentoring exceptional data analysts to help them grow and develop in their roles
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of all analyses and large scale projects undertaken with the analytics function
  • Building out presentations to share analytics findings with the larger business, including executive level
  • Helping us to roll out self-service analytics through learning Looker inside and out, working with teams to help them build out reporting, answering stakeholder queries, routing requests to the right place, and assisting with ad-hoc questions

Some examples of the fun stuff we’d like your help with:

  • Building learning modules to drive data literacy across the business
  • Product: Building customer funnels, Pricing optimisation
  • Trust: Identifying fraudulent behavior and eliminating scam and spam
  • And much more!

Required capabilities:

  • Endlessly curious, proactive, and driven - you’re passionate about analytics and how it can transform a business
  • 4+ years of experience in data analytics or data science, preferably with at least 2 years of experience in-house
  • Very technically skilled in analytics, with experience in building and delivering model-based analyses (regression, clustering, etc.) and experience with sophisticated analyses such as cohort analysis
  • Advanced reporting capabilities, with ability to define KPIs and metrics, and experience delivering actionable insights to a business using Tableau, Looker, or similar BI tool
  • Extensive experience in applying the right solution to a problem, scoping work appropriately, and mentoring others to do so
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder management, with the confidence to deliver results back to the business
  • Excellent prioritisation skills, preferably honed in an Agile environment
  • Interest in how the business as a whole works - analytics as an enablement function requires a broader understanding of how we fit in and what we do
  • Experience in managing and mentoring others
  • Proficiency in R or Python (model-building)
  • A go-getting, positive attitude, with the ability to get things done with minimal oversight
  • Track record of successfully collaborating cross-functionally and delivering high quality and impactful results

Desired (but not required) capabilities:

  • Experience with GCP, Looker, and/or JIRA. For product - Amplitude/Druid, for trust - Zendesk

We Offer:

  • "20% time" - be the most innovative you can be and work on anything you’d like!
  • The opportunity to be a key part of an exciting international growth journey
  • The opportunity to work with leading data engineering technologies including R, python, Google Cloud Platform, Airflow and AWS, and with leading data tools and emerging technologies
  • Opportunities to learn from the best and develop your career in a friendly, international, workplace
