This position is available for a candidate with both occupant and mechanical package experience in an OEM role.
Establishment of overall vehicle mechanical package targets (including exterior dimensions, wheel and tire sizing and clearances, ground clearance, functional system clearances, assembly clearances, serviceability)
Communication of targets by developing 3D CAD and working with design studio and component engineers as the vehicle design progresses to ensure targets are met.
Creating the most package efficient vehicle architecture to align all driving geometries of powertrain, body structure, EE, interior and chassis systems.
Drive the mechanical package integration efforts for all mechanical systems to reduce weight, increase functional interaction, reduce manufacturing complexity
Orchestration of overall vehicle layout with cross-functional organizations, ensuring design integration and geometric capability with mechanical and occupant package objectives.
Identification of vehicle package target and geometric compatibility issues, and development of solution alternatives considering trade-offs (quality, function, weight, cost, assembly feasibility, etc.).
Analysis of customer satisfaction and quality data for internal and competitive products.
Benchmarking of competitive vehicles.
BS in engineering
10+ years of experience in vehicle level occupant package or mechanical package/geometric integration
5+ years of experience in CATIA
Passion for engineering and product excellence
Proven ability of progress mechanical design solutions for complex systems
Outstanding communication and presentation skills
Knowledge of all phases of Vehicle Product Development
Overall vehicle, attribute and functional hardware knowledge
Supply Chain, Manufacturing and assembly plant experience
