Lead Engineer - Specialist for Sealing Systems
The Sealing System Lead will have ownership of the design, development and engineering activities covering the vehicle static and dynamic sealing systems.
This lead person will conceptualize, develop, engineer, design and release the system and components, supporting launch, as required.
The role is responsible for ensuring project requirements are met, including performance, cost and testing completion within the project timeline.
As a lead, you will develop unique and advanced concepts and designs, leading innovation and advancing the technology incorporated into these systems.
You will utilize your expertise in delivering complete systems and assemblies, within a lean and agile team of innovative engineers.
The position reports to the Closures Manager and Body Director.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in design, development, release and implementation into production of BIW sealing.
Ability to produce seal concepts that move forward into production solutions.
Specific launch experience with volume production.
Experience with various materials for performance (EPDM, TPV, Foam, etc.) vs cost.
Catia (V5 and/or V6) expertise, including releasing into the PLM systems.
Experience with Seal supplier interface and development projects.
Able and willing to travel domestically and/or internationally including support of production launch.
Experience with sealing system/component FEA: 2D, 3D (molds) and CLD diagrams.
Preferred Qualifications

Previous project planning and execution experience.
Experience with Design for Six Sigma (preferably with certification), Lean Concepts and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly.
Highly motivated individual with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Experience with nimble problem solving techniques, including demonstrated real world solutions.
Ability to lead and coordinate the program and technical issues resolution.
Examples of meeting or exceeding the goals set up by the department Director and Company.
