The Closures group is in need of a Lead Engineer who is responsible for leading the design and development of hoods, hood hardware and fenders or door systems or lift-gate systems for various vehicle programs. Responsibilities include Bill of Materials (BOM) creation and maintenance and part releasing to required dates. The Lead Engineer must interact with Advanced Concepts Engineering (ACE), the design studios, advanced stamping manufacturing, advanced assembly manufacturing to resolve packaging and feasibility issues.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
Minimum of 5 years of experience in design and release of automotive components in Body Closures and/or Exterior Systems
Knowledgeable in use of Unigraphics NX and Teamcenter
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
Plant launch experience
Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R)
Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Green / Black Belt
Knowledgeable about materials and GD&T
Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills and demonstrated problem solving ability
Proficient in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
Willingness to travel for launch support
