Farewill is hiring a

Lead Marketing Designer

We’re looking for a talented Lead Marketing Designer to help us change the way the world deals with death. As the lead designer in our brand and acquisition team, you’ll be partnering with our Lead Creative Copywriter to concept and deliver campaigns across print, inserts, social, tv, CRM and OOH.

Our story

We’re Farewill – we build simple, beautiful products to change the way the world deals with death. Since launching in December 2016, we’ve grown to be the biggest (and most loved) will writer in the UK – raising over £120m for charity along the way. We then launched our second service in March 2019, helping families with probate at the difficult, emotional time of a bereavement. We’re a growing, multidisciplinary and tight-knit team of 35, and after raising £8m this January, we’re only just getting started.

Your story

You've spent the last 3 years working as a designer in agencies or in-house, and you have a portfolio full of campaign work to show for it. This covers everything from posters and press ads to emails and social posts – and you might even have some web design work in there too.

You also know that great design is nothing without the thinking behind it, so you love stepping away from the screen to see the bigger picture. Once the strategy is locked in, you'll be able to run things from initial sketches and concepts right through to execution. And if there's a freelance illustrator or photographer that needs to be briefed, you're on it.

What you’ll be doing at Farewill

  • Collaborate with our Lead Creative Copywriter to strategise and concept print and digital ads.
  • Test and iterate on design executions to find an approach that really works.
  • Design our first fully-integrated marketing campaign – set to run in the new year.
  • Become the guardian of our new brand world (coming soon) and evolve how this plays out across all marketing communications.
  • Join the weekly design guild crit to help define how design works across the business.
  • Create our first ever marketing communications for our Probate product.

Requirements

What makes you a good fit for this role?

  • You’re a great designer who loves concepting ideas, bringing them to life and seeing how they perform in the real world.
  • Your portfolio shows conceptual design thinking across print, social, CRM and OOH.
  • You’re excited by the challenge of using your design talents to help change the way the world deals with death.
  • You’re a clear communicator and are always able to explain the story and rationale behind your thinking.
  • It would be amazing if you have a bit of illustration and/or motion graphics experience, but this isn’t essential.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and share options
  • Santander cycles membership
  • Regular off-site days and team lunches
  • Work from a beautiful, spacious office with great coffee and snacks on tap
  • Work from home on Wednesdays, flexible start and end to your day
  • 28 days holiday + bank holidays

If this is all music to your ears, we'd love to hear from you. Send over your CV and portfolio along with a few sentences on why you're right for the role, then we'll set up a call or coffee to get to know each other a bit better.
