What we are looking for:

We are looking for a motivated Product Design Lead to join our Packlink Product Team.

You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse, talented team besides advocating product initiatives through the entire product: from problem identification, thinking out of the box, prototyping the solution, testing it with users, and working with the dev and product lifecycle team to fully implement it. 

In this role, you will lead the product designers and user researchers in Madrid and will be reporting directly to the Design Director for Europe.

What you will be doing:

  • Partner with product management, engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure the product design & user research team delivers impactful and exceptional work.
  • Support and lead design teams by applying your craft: strategic design methods, user research, UX wire-framing, and UI prototyping, detailed design, usability testing, and implementation.
  • Be a conduit for the user, providing quality UX experiences that move the needle of what great results look like.
  • Coach, mentor and grow a local team of talented designers to refine their individual and functional skills.
  • Foster an attitude of collaboration across the organization.
  • Be informed and opinionated on industry best practices to define, develop and own programs that elevate the user experience across the business.
  • Thrive in a constantly evolving industry with a growth mindset and successfully guide
    others alongside you.

Support the hiring process and be a part of every major decision within the product design team.

What are we looking for:
  • Ability to appreciate things from a business point of, i.e understanding cost/resources
    involved in proposed solutions.
  • Negotiate and prepare final designs for tech teams.
  • Design new and existing product features with lean mentality.
  • Fluent in design and prototyping tools (we work in Figma and Sketch currently).
  • Deep knowledge in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as a strong understanding of usability principles and techniques.
  • Ability to prototype multi-device solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of information architecture, copy, content and usability.
  • Previous experience planning, running and analysing UX research methods (customer journey mapping, user interviews, usability testing; surveys; usability audits; etc.).
  • Previous experience leading design teams of up to 6 people.
  • Adaptable and fast learners, we are constantly improving our working methods.
  • Collaborative team player. Enjoy working as a team and love challenges.
  • Communication and empathy.
  • Experience working as part of a product team, within a start-up.
  • Spanish language skills are desirable.
