Lead UX Designer

Our mission is to enable everyone in SEA to shop online, compare prices and enjoy impartial product information through our catalog aggregator platform. With more than 1000 partners on our platform, 140 employees, and 15M monthly page views we are well setup for that - and hungry for more. E-commerce in SEA is still in its infancy compared to markets like Europe or America and we believe we can play a bigger role in the ecosystem.

The next step for iPrice’s growth can be summed up in one word: users. We have a big opportunity to deliver excellent experiences for our 15M+ monthly visitors as well as the SEA e-commerce industry as a whole. Through a user-centered process we are implementing at iPrice, the UX Team will be play a central role in the next stage of our company’s growth, which is why we need an experienced UXer like you.

The UX Team at iPrice is a tight-knit, diverse group of 5 from Indonesia, Russia, and America, all of us residing in wonderful Kuala Lumpur. We are all eager to grow ourselves through constant learning and feedback. This culture encourages an ego-less approach in the way we deal with others. You will be expected to fully contribute and grow this culture as we scale our team.

Requirements

To be a successful Lead UX Designer at iPrice, you need to embody excellence in these areas:

Execution

  • This is not a management role, this is a “get your hands dirty by working through the details” role.
  • The company will look to you as an industry expert in many aspects of UX, but most importantly:
    • User-Centered Design
    • Mobile Usability and Accessibility
    • Mobile Interface Design Patterns
    • Interaction Design
  • You will be working everyday in an embedded Scrum team, so the ability to work well with developers, product managers, and data analysts is an absolute must.
  • Working in an embedded Scrum team also means you'll have full accountability for the quality of your execution. We're hoping this level of responsibility and ownership excites you!
  • Help elevate the skills of other UXers on the team
  • User-Centered Design
  • Mobile Usability and Accessibility
  • Mobile Interface Design Patterns
  • Interaction Design

User Strategy

  • Can you work effectively with the Head of UX to refine our user strategy?
  • Can you make every design decision be a reflection of the user strategy?
  • Can you generate new insights and initiatives based on user insights and data?
  • Can you validate your hypotheses through usability tests, variable testing, and data?
  • Can you superbly articulate the “whys” behind your design decisions?

Product Priority

  • How well can you understand the company business and understand your role within a big picture?
  • Can you read through the backlog and understand which UX activity will be required for each initiative?
  • Can you leverage user research and data to effectively influence the product backlog?
  • Can you understand the meaning of continuous value delivery through a build, measure, learn cycle of small steps?

Portfolio or case studies are a must! Your compensation will reflect your past experiences and capability to further a user-centered process at iPrice. We will place a priority for qualified candidates from the Southeast Asian markets we serve.
