Learning & Development Manager

*This is a Hybrid role & you will be expected to work from our Tamworth office 3x days per week*

As a Learning & Development (L&D) Manager, you will lead the design, implementation, delivery and evaluation of learning programs to support the professional growth and skill development of employees. This is a standalone role and as a result a typical day will vary between hands on and strategic tasks. You'll work closely with the People Team and business leaders to ensure that learning initiatives align with organisational objectives and contribute to overall success of Project 25.

Manage a range of L&D duties and tasks, and lead on internal training and development offerings. Lead on the design and delivery of key L&D initiatives and programmes. Track and present outcomes of learnings to support the development and growth of our employees, to include but not limited to:

  • Lead on delivering existing internal management and leadership programmes.
  • Lead on content creation for training modules, including training guides and workbooks, working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Conduct research into appropriate learning interventions, presenting appropriate cost/benefit analysis.
  • Lead on key training programmes including scheduling training sessions, booking venues, ordering lunch and issuing joining instructions to delegates
  • Manage training queries, requests and approval process, including training agreements
  • Manage feedback surveys and make recommendations for improvement
  • Support with Marketing activities (plan, write and edit content) for promoting the Management & Excellence Leadership programme - to internal & external communication platforms
  • Issue certificates of attendance to learners
  • Produce reports for training programmes & outcomes and annual appraisals
  • Develop and maintain Training Toolkits for facilitators and managers that help to empower local teams
  • Lead on refreshing and delivering Company Inductions
  • Lead and develop already established Mentoring programmes , making improvements where necessary
  • Manage the apprenticeship levy in partnership with the People Team
  • Manage relationships with external training partners
  • Responsible for the coordination of ILM programmes
  • Support the People Business Partners with appraisals, talent reviews and succession planning

 

Requirements

  • Extensive experience working in learning and development, with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering training programmes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into actionable L&D strategies.
  • Ability to stay on top of ever-evolving industry trends and remain forward-thinking.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Coaching Qualification (advantageous)

  • Willing to undertake familiarisation to fulfil the requirements of the role 
  • Willing to work additional hours to meet the demands of the role 
  • Required to travel/stay aways on company business 
  • Ensures a positive approach to work, flexing style to the situation and providing effective feedback
