  • Job Title: Learning & Development Specialist, Organized Play
  • Job Summary: The Learning & Development Specialist will be responsible for the coordination of training elements and initiatives for members of Pokémon Organized Play’s global network of judges, event organizers, and event volunteers. Such elements include the program’s e-learning portal and online and in-person training sessions.
  • FLSA Classification (US Only): Exempt

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain initiatives that improve the contribution of Professors to all Play! Pokémon programs, including localization of all related materials.
  • Create experiences that effectively educate the membership base while achieving the secondary purposes of entertainment and/or celebration.
  • Own the current Professor Program exam and rank process, including updates, localization, and grading.
  • Devise and implement benchmarks for theoretical knowledge and its practical application in respect to progression in the Professor Program.
  • Work with Market Development to identify and develop Learning and Development content needs for Play! Pokémon retail locations.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in learning and development.
  • Liaise with vendors to ensure high-quality local implementation of in-person/externally organized aspects of the program.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to prioritize areas for improvement in Professor performance, and partner with both to develop and implement solutions.
  • Represent the program, supervise the performance of Professor teams, and assess the effectiveness of in-person training initiatives onsite at select Play! Pokémon events.
     

What you’ll bring

  • All applicants are required to submit a cover letter along with their resume as a qualification for the role. 
  • Three+ (3+) years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a demonstrated equivalent level of applicable experience.
  • Existing working knowledge of Play! Pokémon programs and awareness of the Professor Program is desirable.
  • Experience with e-learning platforms and curriculum development.
  • Prior personal involvement in Play! Pokémon or similar organized play systems is desirable.
  • Demonstrable technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Project management experience and skills
  • Strict attention to detail and prioritization capabilities
  • Demonstrates a high degree of creative originality and ability to provide valuable insights to support wider Organized Play directives.

 

Base Salary Range: For this role, new hires generally start between $83,000 - $97,850 per year. The full range is $83,000 - $123,000 per year. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. The final base salary is directly related to the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
