Legal Billing Specialist

Job Purpose:

The Billing Assistant will be responsible for assisting Billing Manager with tasks related to legal billing/receivables and collections.

Responsibilities:

  • Collections - review and follow-ups
  • Pre-Bill reviews – review of invoices prior to submission to clients to ensure all entries are in compliance with client-specific guidelines
  • Appeals – review of reductions taken by clients and determine whether a reduction is appropriate or appeal the reduction as necessary
  • Additional projects and responsibilities as assigned by Billing Manager or firm management

Skills and Experience:

Candidates must have prior relevant experience in e-billing websites. Prior experience with the following preferred: Bottomline, TyMetrix 360, Quovant, Advocator, Counselink, Serengeti, Legal Bill Review, Collaborati.

The ideal Billing Specialist candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and have excellent follow-through. In addition, strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office software, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel are desired. This is a fast-paced position that requires the ability to work independently in a deadline based environment.
