Requirements

ALL.SPACE is seeking a Lens RF Test Technician to join our growing team to support the measurement and characterisation of optimised RF lenses and actively contribute to the optimisation of our measurement processes. The Lens RF Test Technician will be working closely with the lens, RF test and quality teams and will be reporting to the Director of Lens Antenna Engineering.

The role will focus on the measurement and characterisation of RF lenses, the generation of individual and batch-level reports, regular calibration measurements using a variety of reference antennas, and general maintenance and up-keep of the test environment. Beyond the RF characterisation, successful candidate will also be supporting First Article Inspection and mechanical metrology where needed. They will also contribute to continuous improvements of the test plans, processes and environment as needed, as well as the NPI process as the company scales towards product launch.

ALL.SPACE’s test facilities include:

  • Multiple antenna test ranges of different types (e.g., CATR, small far-field anechoic chambers), operating at frequencies up to 40 GHz
  • A range of RF test equipment to support the bench and chamber setups (VNAs, spectrum analysers, signal generators, VSAs, etc.)
  • Thermal control facilities to test RF performance over temperature
  • Robotic systems to measure RF performance for simulated vehicle and satellite motion profiles.

The successful candidate should have a good understanding of RF testing in anechoic chambers and RF test equipment, and demonstrated experience in conducting test activities in a range of facilities, ideally in a fast-paced development environment. Knowledge of mechanical systems and scaling test facilities to production would also be beneficial.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct standard passive antenna measurements in a test range (e.g., full hemisphere measurements, selected cuts, or static measurements).
  • Conduct standard S-parameter measurements of multiple-port networks.
  • Develop and follow detailed test plans.
  • Support First Article Inspection processes including but not limited to RF and mechanical measurements.
  • Support lens environmental test campaigns.
  • Document measurement activities and conduct results processing and report generation for each test campaign.
  • Support scheduling of access to test setups between engineering teams, in conjunction with the RF Test Manager.
  • Ensure test setups and equipment are maintained and kept in calibration.
  • Provide effective and clear feedback on resource conflicts or constraints in planned test activities, with the goal of achieving project completion on time and on budget.

Skills and/or Experience Needed:

  • BSc or MSc in Electrical/Telecommunications/RF Engineering or Physics.
  • 5+ years of experience in RF antenna testing, ideally including work with anechoic chamber systems.
  • Experienced in analysing measurement data and writing comprehensive test reports.
  • Familiarity with standard scientific computing toolkits, languages, and packages, such as MATLAB or Python (preferred but not essential).
  • Technically proficient in MS Office products.

Other Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate calmly in a well thought out response, verbal and written.
  • Must have substantial problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively present information in team meetings and design reviews as needed.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Benefits

  • Generous stock options
  • Annual bonus
  • 25 days annual leave
  • Public holidays
  • Travel to work schemes
  • Fruit, snacks & drinks
  • Discounts platform
  • Well-being centre
