Localization Coordinator, Talent and Operations

KAYAK and OpenTable help people discover the world through travel and dining with a worldwide group of brands including Swoodoo, checkfelix, momondo, Cheapflights, Mundi and HotelsCombined. The Localization Team based in Berlin serves KAYAK and all its affiliated brands in 65 locales and 48 language variants. You will be joining a multicultural and diverse team of Localization Managers passionate about building a quality native experience for users all over the world. You will help us scale our global localization talent operations to the next level; you will be responsible for managing, supporting and growing our network of freelance localization specialists and working closely with other internal teams including Talent and HR teams towards our OKRs. This role reports to the Localization Talent Manager and is based in Berlin.

Organizational skills with a sense of priority, effective communication as well as good knowledge of localization / internationalization are essential to this role. 

Main responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the freelance life cycle steps including hiring, onboarding, training, communication, invoicing and offboarding

  • Support Talent Manager in hiring processes including CV screening, setting up translation tests, and handling assessment of candidates

  • Ensure onboarding and training is timely and successful

    • Manage a pool of freelance specialists by acting as their main point of contact for all communication regarding operations, availability, invoicing, and technical inquiries 

    • Manage day-to-day freelancer availability while ensuring right resources are allocated to right projects

    • Monitor freelance overall performance (quality scores, deadlines) and work with the Talent Manager to amend any issues promptly

    • Be proactive in identifying operational gaps and suggest best practices and solutions

    • Collaborate closely with our Talent and HR teams to set up smooth hiring / operational frameworks

    • Ensure all compliance and legal requirements are met

    • Cultivate healthy relationships and retention with freelance specialists

    • Meet or exceed hiring and key performance indicator goals

Required

  • 2+ years experience in a similar role - coordination, operations or vendor management background (preferably experience at LSP)

  • Experience working with complex workflows and high-volume projects

  • Fluent in English + one of our other supported languages is a plus

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, written and verbal and a keen eye for detail

  • Strong team player, fostering collaboration with internal & external stakeholders

  • Organizational and time-keeping skills

  • Analytical, data-driven and problem solving skills

 

Preferred skills

 

  • Experience in translation / localization industry

  • Experience in handling large talent pipelines utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems (Greenhouse experience a plus)

  • Google Sheets skills
