The Role 

Pantheon’s Professional Services team directly supports our largest and most strategic customers, helping them to successfully onboard onto the Pantheon platform and derive immediate and ongoing value from working with us. 

We are seeking a passionate, driven, and energetic individual to join our Managed Services team. As a Managed Services Specialist, your job is to ensure that engagements are delivered with the high quality and precision that our clients have come to expect from the Professional Services team. The Managed Services Specialist is the glue that keeps clients, partners and internal resources working together efficiently.   

Cool Stuff You'll Do     

  • Working as part of the Managed Services team to deliver and enhance Pantheon's Managed Updates service, which includes:
    • Overseeing update procedures for both automated and manually delivered updates to Drupal/WordPress core, as well as contributed modules and plugins
    • Reviewing Visual Regression Test results to provide automated core/contrib updates 
    • Provide other flexible custom development solutions on a client request basis
    • Brainstorm and drive new, innovative ways to deliver value to customers, including services for decoupled/headless websites and other future service lines
    • Contribute to the roadmap for the team’s custom tools
  • Acting as an escalation point for customer, platform or application issues that block the successful completion of an engagement
  • Communicating project status to all stakeholders including the clients as well as internal stakeholders
  • Providing platform feedback to the product team to constantly push the needle forward and ensure that we have a finger on the pulse of our clients' needs

What You Bring To The Table  

  • BA or BS or equivalent experience 
  • 2+ years of implementation or engineering experience in a customer-facing technology role
  • Working knowledge of Drupal/WordPress development technologies and tools like PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, git, drush, wp-cli, CI tools and more
  • Experience in a role working as a liaison between customers and an internal team to solve problems
  • Experience juggling multiple projects and relationships

Bonus Points For  

  • Experience with Pantheon’s Platform or other Drupal/WordPress development/hosting platforms
  • Experience with headless websites built on top of WordPress or Drupal
  • Experience with maintaining Drupal Distributions 
  • Familiarity with the LAMP stack, caching, performance tuning and load testing
  • Experience with continuous delivery, devops and agile workflows 
  • Experience with automated testing
  • Experience with version control
  • Experience with accessibility, security or performance auditing
  • Experience with site and/or data migrations
  • Track record of supporting open source projects
