Tri Star Energy is seeking an experienced and qualified Manager, Accounts Receivable for our innovative Wholesale Fuel Accounting team in our Store Support Center in Nashville, TN. The Manager, Accounts Receivable is responsible for understanding and managing all aspects of the company’s A/R and Credit functions.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the Company’s A/R team and its day-to-day, weekly, and monthly activities.
- Have ownership of the Company’s credit policies and procedures, make customer credit decisions, and establish customer credit limits as part of the customer setup process.
- Monitor customers credit limits and customer balances to ensure customers stay in good standing.
- Review all receivables daily for timely receipt of payment and manages customer collection activity for past due accounts by interacting with customers, the sales and customer service departments, and others to secure payment.
- Maintain responsibility for the proper tracking, posting, and reconciling of all customer payments in all forms (EFT, checks, credit cards, etc.) as they are received.
- Monitor and maintain collections of store level credit card payments and timely reconciliation of those collections to store level sales reporting and customer facing settlements.
- Manage setting up all new customer accounts, including reviewing credit applications, performing customer credit checks, and approving or denying credit requests.
- Monitor customer credit limits and mitigate non-payment risk for all customers on an ongoing basis, making recommendations and timely adjustments to customers’ credit status and limits when necessary.
- Perform daily monitoring of the Company’s credit limits from our fuel vendors to ensure, by working closely with our fuel supply team, that the Company maintains credit limit compliance and can maintain a steady, uninterrupted capacity for purchasing fuel.
- Identify process gaps and recommend and oversee the implementation of process improvements and systems optimizations to gain efficiencies and reduce the likelihood of error by the department.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations of A/R accounts to keep the Company’s accounts free of misstatement.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly A/R reporting for communication of A/R status and department KPI’s (key performance indicators) with upper management and other departments.
- Assess the Company’s reserve for doubtful accounts at each month end and adjust the reserve as necessary to ensure the amount reserved is appropriate per U.S. GAAP compliance.
- Work proactively with other departments to resolve any A/R and credit needs as they arise.
- Ensure proper handling and distribution of company funds.
- Maintain confidentiality of all company, client, employee, and vendor information.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
- 5+ years of related corporate accounting experience.
- 3+ years of supervisory-level A/R, credit, and/or collections experience.
- OR, any equivalent combination of education and experience in job-related activities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
- Experience in credit management; Team of 3 or more.
