Manager, Business Development

As a Manager in Business Development, you will play an integral role in shaping the development of this partner ecosystem and work closely with strategic partners across a variety of disciplines. You will help to drive the partnership strategy and build the ecosystem from the ground up.

Helix is looking to build a diverse platform with app developers of varying sizes and disciplines who can help to broaden the ecosystem and demonstrate the potential of DNA applications. The ideal candidate will be able to own the process of acquiring and supporting developer partners from managing and scoring inbound leads through the management and support of partners in their product development efforts. As a Manager in Business Development for Helix, you will:

  • Work with companies, developers, and entrepreneurs who are interested in building for the Helix ecosystem
  • Own, maintain, and prioritize pipeline of new leads
  • Foster relationships and lead discussions with partners
  • Create innovative proposals for potential partners that drive value for both parties
  • Influence Helix product development as we learn about the needs of developers
  • Influence key discussions about overall partnership strategy

Required background:

  • BA or BS degree; MBA optional
  • At least 4-6 years of experience maintaining partnerships and/or sales, ideally in healthcare, life sciences, or consumer technology
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with entrepreneurial teams and outsourced firms that may support partners
  • Comfortable communicating the Helix vision as part of discussions and negotiations with partners
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and serving as intermediary to achieve key development milestones
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Willing to contribute in a variety of ways, even if outside formal responsibilities

An ideal candidate will have:

  • 4+ years of experience in business development, partner management, sales, or similar role
  • Experience working with startups or small teams
  • Industry and / or academic background in technology, healthcare, or life sciences
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
