Make your mark on Jewish student life by joining Boston Univeristy Hillel as the manager for Jewish Life and learning. The Manager will coordinate and execute strategy for the Jewish Learning Fellowship at BU Hillel, utilizing an overall approach of human-centered design to ensure our educational offerings serve students’ interests and needs. You will build individual relationships with hundreds of students, providing mentorship and pastoral care, with an additional focus on social justice. This position reports to the Campus Rabbi and is part of a larger religious life team responsible for executing Jewish life and learning at BU Hillel.
The role brings a professional with talent, passion, and skills to Boston University to coordinate BU Hillel’s extensive Jewish Learning Fellowship program, which offers 6-10 classes each semester. As the Manager for Jewish Learning, you’ll be responsible for recruiting 300+ students each year to engage in deep, meaningful Jewish learning. You’ll work closely with the Campus Rabbi to identify dynamic and relevant learning topics to offer each semester. And you’ll have the opportunity to directly teach and impact hundreds of students. 3-5 line summary that start with the mission of the role that you wrote in your scorecard and mentions the type of work and ambition for the role in shaping Jewish student life, rather than every duty and responsibility.
This position also helps to mentor and guide specific groups of student leaders, including the Social Justice Fellowship and its Campus Corps, which is responsible for coordinating weekly volunteer opportunities and planning and executing two large scale service projects.
You’ll receive training from BU Hillel and Hillel International professionals, and learn from Jewish leaders on how to seamlessly weave Judaism into your work as a Hillel engagement professional. Each day you will be charged with empowering students to engage in meaningful and joyous Jewish lives, weaving in Jewish values, texts, and history.
