Manager, Interiors

NextEv is looking for a talented Interior Manager Engineer to join our team in San Jose, CA, where you'll be the shining beacon of latest technologies, design, and leadership. As a Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for design, development, and refinement of mechanical components and sub-systems to meet quality and regulatory standards to understand customer needs. You will also collaborate with designers, research the latest technology, project management, development and design tools. 

Knowledge of hard trim, door trim, trunk trim, IP and console.
Develop and execute component and subsystem design verification plans, test methods and implementing cutting edge material
Ensures the integration of engineering resources with cross-functional teams to meet product goals for the unit’s product line of significantly complex scope.
Define, develop, and sustain product strategy, objectives and roadmap
Guides programs for the research and development of new technologies relating to mechanical engineering as appropriate, and ensures that newly created processes, designs, and/or methodologies are incorporated into applied materials, products/services, and/or disseminated to other areas as needed
Applies in-depth understanding of how management integrates within the leadership of your team and suppliers.
Specific knowledge with plastics and composites molding, foaming, wrapped materials, extrusions, injection, attachments, assembly methodology, product launch, lightweight materials, metals and an understanding of class A surfaces.
Knowledge with Design for Six Sigma, DFMEA and PFMEA
As manager you will be expected to have your team develop unique, innovative and advanced engineering concepts and system designs.
Manage your teams project, mentor, inspire, and guide suppliers
Aid all team’s prioritization by creating/managing milestone and negotiating the workload and time lines with suppliers
Strong understanding of new technologies, products, and development methods in order to design a world-class consumer experience

Required Skills and Qualifications

BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering – min 10 Years of Experience
Outstanding design, packaging and 3D modeling skills - Management
Passion for electric vehicles and energy efficiency
Demonstrable motivation and ability to solve difficult design problems with tight timing constraints
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
Able and willing to travel domestically and/or internationally.
Demonstrable motivation and ability to solve novel, difficult design problems with tight timing constraints
Manage and lead a team of designers and engineers to efficiently meeting or exceeding the department and company’s objectives.
Must be authorized to work legally in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering specialized in aerodynamics, advanced composite technologies, mechanisms, machineries and/or manufacturing.
Previous planning and program management experience.
