A Product Design Manager at Vidyard is a leader who is passionate about creating compelling video products based on insights from real people and is constantly thinking about the user, the business, and the technology.

You will represent the voice of design collaborating with Product and Engineering to help define product vision, opportunities, and the processes needed to execute for success. You'll have the opportunity to grow and mentor a team of talented Product Designers ranging from Associate to Senior Level.

In this role you will focus on:

  • Product Strategy: Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering to define and communicate a strategic vision and high-level objectives for the product areas you manage. Develop a deep understanding of Vidyard's various business lines, goals and key health metrics. Ensures team roadmaps are user-centered, data-informed and consider the entire product ecosystem.
  • Career Growth & Mentorship: Understand the personal and professional objectives for the designers you manage and helps set clear, realistic, action-oriented goals with each designer. Develop effective, growth-centered mentor relationships with the Product Designers on your team. Through regular 1:1s and informal interactions, collaborate with Product Designers through complex design problems and product ideation.
  • Data: Advocate for data in every project by helping define what qualitative and quantitative data will be important in the work. Help align learnings with the rest of product development in order to enhance everyone's understanding of our products and users. Consistently hold designers accountable for examining their choices through the lens of data, and fosters a learning culture both within Design and the larger Product organization.
  • Communication: Communicate with leaders across the organization to articulate what is being worked on by your teams, why it is being done, the goals, and the expected outcome. 
  • Culture: Establish and maintain a healthy, collaborative culture across product teams. Help lead design crits, collaborative workshops, processes and other rituals to spread design thinking and enthusiasm throughout Vidyard. 

Qualifications:

  • Design leadership experience at a product-led growth organization, ideally with a freemium to paid product
  • Ability to lead a team accountable for end-to-end design process, from UX Research, Ideation to high fidelity prototypes. 
  • Strong design facilitation skills
  • A strong understanding of the research and testing methods required to develop customer empathy and validate ideas.
  • Experience with experimentation frameworks
  • Proficient at defining (and refining) use cases, personas, and jobs to be done in B2B SaaS
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
