Manufacturing Engineer - Electrical

Job overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer, Electrical is responsible for the ongoing support and internationalization of eero products. Their role starts from Design Verification through mass production and continues on until the product is no longer supported by eero warranty.  A broad scope is required, which spans numerous aspects of manufacturing and operations, including SMT process control, stencil approval, board assembly process, factory bone pile debug processes, product configuration, and new process qualification.  

What you'll do:

  • Coordinate qualification builds, test, and analysis of new vendors' components and post ramp product
  • Create DoE supporting Root Cause Analysis for PCB/PCBA
  • Ensure DFx and ongoing improvement are implemented in engineering builds
  • Lead eero’s technical team's new product introduction efforts during ramp within the Operations sphere. Specific goals include team leadership in driving issue resolution, manufacturing process, schedule, cost, quality, availability and order cycle time goals
  • Act as Agile Administrator for your products – owning BOM accuracy, updating top level BOM structures and working with cross-functional teams to control subassembly drawings, data sheets, specifications, CAD, and artwork files in document control
  • Engage with OEM manufacturing partners to develop, ramp, and introduce products by providing expertise in SMT qualification and PCBA process handling. Develop rapport with partners and detailed knowledge of "how the factory works," its capabilities and limitations
  • Build and Communicate project schedule and status updates to various stakeholders, including team members and executives within eero and OEMs
  • Always push the leading edge of innovation and excellence in eero products and program management practices
  • Support coverage in other products in the region. Travel to another location on other products on an as-needed basis to drive issue resolution and/or support build/ramp activities
  • Exceptional ability to build relationships, build cross-functional teams and exert effective influence in a matrix organization
  • Attention to detail without becoming lost in the details

We're looking for someone with:

  • Engineering background with good knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes with expertise in SMT process qualification; experience with RF products will be a plus
  • Resident expertise in PCB fabrication and SMT. PCBA Design of experiments (DoE), Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), and applying 5M+E in analysis are familiar tools
  • Familiarity with using essential debug tools (voltmeter, scope, soldering etc)
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; Master will be a plus
  • Exceptional communication skills via brevity and details
  • Understanding of Asia business culture.  Mandarin Chinese language spoken and written is a plus
