The Marketing Communications Manager supports the firm’s initiatives and marcom team in executing all facets of the firm’s integrated marketing and communications campaigns, including influencer outreach, social media and events. Position works closely with peers on the marketing and communications team to define the strategies and tactics needed to create greater awareness of Omidyar Network and engagement with its multiple audiences. The individual will collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders globally, including multiple initiative teams, functional teams, investees, and agency partners.

This is a hands-on role that requires excellent writing and project-management skills.



  • Plan and execute multiple marcom projects concurrently.
  • Partner with marcom colleagues to identify content needs and then manage development and maintenance of online and off-line communication assets.   Writing and project management deliverables span the marcom mix:
      • Web copy
      • Web site CMS management
      • Blogs
      • Brochures/flyers
      • Stakeholder communications
      • Employee communications
      • Invitations
      • Event programs
      • Short reports
      • Press releases
      • PowerPoint presentations
  • Plan and execute components of internal and external events.  Potential to lead events in their entirety.
  • Support the development of graphic design, photography and video projects.
  • Fact checking and proofreading.
  • Track marcom department metrics.
  • Track milestones and progress of firm’s initiatives, peers and investees.



  • A minimum of five years of marketing communications experience. Agency experience is a plus.
  • Excellent writing skills, especially as applied to social media and short-form content. The candidate’s experience must include management of programs targeting specific audiences and communicating a client story or message.
  • Proficient proofreader.
  • Demonstrated talents in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of digital platforms– from web sites and mobile to social networks and blogs.
  • Familiarity with AP Style and skills at drafting press releases.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and other presentation tools.
  • Experience with HTML and Web site CMS a plus.
  • Highly collaborative and supportive style. Capable of building relationships and influencing the opinions of others.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the organization’s core values, mission, and programs.
