Marketing Data Analyst

Overview:

We are looking for analysts to join our Marketing Analytics team in Bangkok, Thailand.

 

Agoda is a strongly data driven organization. Working across the range of Agoda’s marketing channels including PPC, metasearch and affiliate marketing, your role will be to help drive decision-making with insights from data analysis.

 

We are looking for curious, proactive analysts, who love the idea of analyzing billions of actions from millions of travelers choosing from thousands of hotels! You will get the opportunity to own analytical projects all the way from understanding stakeholder needs to communicating the findings.

Responsibilities:
  • Understand and report to the marketing team and senior management on marketing performance. Identify and investigate trends, anomalies and opportunities to improve Agoda’s marketing strategy
  • Work with stakeholders in the marketing team to understand their business needs and identify opportunities for analysis insight to inform their decision-making
  • Self-manage delivery of analytical projects:
    • Defining the business problem
    • Determining the analytical approach with your team
    • Efficiently extract relevant data
    • Appropriately use statistical methods
    • Communicating your findings using impactful visualizations
  • Balance multiple priorities, updating stakeholders on progress and expected delivery
  • Encourage and train the marketing team in best practice use of Agoda data, analysis techniques and interpretation 
Qualifications:

Attitude

  • Must be data savvy and love crunching numbers
  • Attentive to detail and committed to data integrity
  • Keen and curious nature; able and willing to share your opinion

Skills

  • Experience using at least one a data analysis package, e.g., SAS, R, SPSS, Python or VBA
  • Experience extracting data from large database, e.g. SQL Server, Vertica
  • Able to conduct analytics or experimentation with a commercial focus
  • Organized; able to manage multiple, competing priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines
  • Able to communicate effectively with people of differing levels of seniority, analytical understanding and from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • Able to communicate fluently in English both spoken and written

Experience

  • Bachelor Degree or higher that included mathematics, statistics, data science or a similar field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably working with large datasets and experimentation
  • Experience in digital (performance) marketing is helpful but not required
