Sr. Manager, Events Marketing - Media

Los Angeles, United States

Sr. Manager, Events Marketing - Media

In this position, you will plan and execute first– and third–party events in the US and Canada for our Media services division. We represent some of the smartest and most disruptive minds working in the industry, and we’re looking for someone equally as clever and savvy when it comes to helping us show up on stage in the most strategic way possible.

We're less trade show booth and turnkey sponsorship, and more disrupt the status quo - whether it's taking over a café in a swanky location, delivering groundbreaking talks, hijacking industry events with satellite programming, or hosting VIP dinners in unique locations. We’re looking for someone preoccupied with how to attract and win new customers through events, with experience planning and generating measurable business impact alongside sales teams and a proven track record of winning speaking opportunities for company spokespeople.

Must be willing to travel and support on the ground as needed, but more importantly, think outside the “booth” when it comes to how we show up at events. Ideal candidates located near a physical office location in one of the following cities: San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, or Toronto.

Key Responsibilities

  • Third-Party Events: Planning, execution, and on-the-ground support for third-party events in the region such as the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), NYC Advertising Week, and other key industry and partner events throughout the year
  • Support Media leadership in remote planning for our presence at the annual Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, along with other global tentpole events
  • Owned (First-Party) Events: In partnership with Media sales teams and local office heads, own the planning and execution of local events for client and prospect audiences including concept, promotion, registration, and follow up activities
  • Manage relationships with regional partner trade organizations and industry event organizers to evaluate  applicable speaking opportunities, sponsorships, and additional promotional opportunities to leverage for demand and awareness generation
  • Maintain and build on our annual events calendar, identifying upcoming opportunities for speaking appearances and marketing activities that align with global marketing team campaign planning, as well as proactively exploring net new US/CA event and sponsorship opportunities
  • Work and consult with internal SMEs and account teams to develop speaking proposals for appearances with clients and partners at key events in the US/CA market
  • Organize event plans and presence including research, budgeting, planning timelines, and coordinating with venues and suppliers (where applicable), in addition to serving as the primary point of contact for event attending personnel and key stakeholders, communicating relevant details and logistics both before, during and after events
  • Own promotional strategy for all third-party and owned events, building plans alongside our broader Media Marketing, Global Marketing, and Sales and Accounts teams to drive event interest, registration, attendance, and followup engagement for owned events and maximum ROI for third-party events
  • Collaborate with Media sales and account teams and broader Media.Monks equivalent teams to collect and plan opportunities to meet with clients and prospects, and strategically planning to optimize for qualified business meetings
  • Coordinate with Partnerships leads for key partners both for our presence at their owned events and for opportunities at broader industry events and Media.Monks owned events
  • Build and manage, in coordination with the global demand generation team, event follow up activities and connection between events and the broader Media.Monks marketing ecosystem
  • Conduct post-event wrap-up and outcomes analysis, and present to key stakeholders and marketing leadership
  • Source, recommend, learn, and adopt tools to drive efficiency and help deliver best-in-class event experience
  • Maintain event related content on our website and landing pages, and work with our social media lead to ensure coverage and promotion of key events and speaking opportunities

Background & Skills

  • 3+ years of relevant events marketing and coordination experience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working autonomously
  • Ability to initiate and project manage several simultaneous projects
  • Direct and ongoing work with executive stakeholders, including routine review meetings
  • Building and proposing event budgeting, goals, and tracking
  • Experience working within event marketing platforms to build registration interfaces, promotions, and pulling reporting on outcomes, Splash experience a plus
  • Ideal candidates will also have experience in:
    • LinkedIn (social) advertising management
    • Marketing automation platforms, namely HubSpot
    • CRM platforms, namely Salesforce
    • Simple design software platforms, namely Figma
