POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will have the opportunity to learn and assist with the day-to-day operations of the Marketing Department and will become involved with marketing and promotions for the Detroit Lions and Ford Field.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Marketing Intern position will have daily responsibilities including, without limitation, the following:
- Coordinate marketing and promotional activities and assist in executing all Detroit Lions offseason and game day events and activations
- Assist Director of Marketing Events in all operational elements for Detroit Lions Training Camp
- Oversee tracking and maintaining marketing departmental budgets including processing invoices, tracking spend, and providing budget updates throughout the year
- Assist Marketing Coordinator with the management of the Detroit Lions Cub Club and find innovative ways to increase participation and drive membership
- Plan, coordinate and execute Cub Club events, email correspondence and promotional programs
- Support the ideation and implementation of activations for the Detroit Lions tailgate area, Pride Plaza, and assist with game day responsibilities related to the activations.
- Support in the management and creation of influencer programs to increase brand awareness and entice new audiences
- Assist in coordination and implementation of any esports tournaments or fan engagements activations
- Create event outlines, timelines, layouts, maps and various other planning documents for all events
- Assist in coordinating gameday prize giveaways in addition to halftime and post-game on-field promotional activities
- Support game day production staff with live entertainment planning and sponsorship fulfillment
- Research NFL team initiatives regarding promotions, gameday presentation and off-season events
- Fulfill administrative duties such as data entry, correspondence, facilitating meetings, procurement and care of operational supplies, general communication with staff, and other office and event responsibilities as necessary.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Will adjust work schedule to meet departmental demands, including being available to work a non-standard schedule in support of football operations, events, and other Marketing activities, including holidays and weekends as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently pursuing or obtained bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, Sports Management or related fields
- Prior event management / gameday promotional experience strongly preferred
- Proficient in computer programs including; MS Excel, MS Word, MS power-point, MS Publisher and Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign.
- Strong strategic thinker and problem solver with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in diverse environments with the ability to connect with individuals of all statures. Interacts with employees, marketing partners, and club affiliates in a professional manner
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism while interacting with high-profile individuals and external partners.
