The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a UK-based educational charity that works to put the power of computing and digital making into the hands of people all over the world. Established in 2008 and first known for our product — the wildly successful Raspberry Pi computer — the Foundation has developed educational content and programmes that are helping millions of people learn computing and digital making.

In October 2015, we merged with Code Club, followed in May 2017 by a second merger with the CoderDojo Foundation. Together we now represent one of the largest sustained, global efforts to help young people learn computing and digital making. The role

We’re looking for a Marketing Manager to join our Communications and Marketing team and help us grow our community. The person taking up this role will provide essential support to the Director of Marketing and Communications in developing and implementing marketing campaigns across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to develop both strategic and tactical campaigns. In this role, you will be heavily involved in campaign design, and you’ll also need to relish the challenge of rolling up your sleeves in implementation. You will be passionate about ensuring all our campaigns start with clear objectives and audience needs, and you’ll love evaluating the results and ROI to make improvements each time. You’ll be creative and enjoy taking ideas from concept through to execution. A natural project manager and team player, you’ll be responsible for content planning within the team, and you will support colleagues with their task pipelines and prioritisation. You’ll be highly collaborative and personable, and you’ll have a great eye for detail.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of marketing plans to grow our programmes and further engage our community, ensuring that the plans are well understood across the organisation
  • Support the Director of Communications and Marketing in coordinating our marketing strategy
  • Support the Foundation’s Communications and Marketing team, taking a management role and deputising for the Director as required
  • Work closely with the Raspberry Pi Trading Comms team and other engagement teams across the organisation
  • Collate and analyse data from across the organisation to measure campaign success
  • Generate and collate a bank of organisation-wide content that demonstrates the Foundation’s reach and impact
  • Ensure consistent implementation of our brands across key touch points
  • Brief and manage agencies and freelancers as necessary
  • Manage the marketing campaign budget


Experience and personal attributes

You should have:

  • Experience of designing, developing, and implementing marketing campaigns within at least three organisations
  • Experience of working across all marketing disciplines and channels, and a comprehensive understanding of social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter
  • The ability to analyse and interpret data to evaluate campaign success and make recommendations for improvements
  • Experience of managing and inspiring a cross-functional marketing team, and of deputising at a senior level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and copywriting skills
  • Outstanding organisational and project management skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and to multi-task
  • A marketing or relevant business degree, and/or professional marketing qualifications

Ideally you’ll have some or all of the following:

  • Experience of working in public relations
  • Experience of running a marketing budget and demonstrating ROI
  • Experience of working in education
  • Experience of working for a charity
  • Experience of briefing and managing agencies
