Marketing Manager, LinkNYC

Intersection, a technology and media company committed to improving the urban experience at the convergence of digital and physical worlds, is seeking a Marketing Manager for our LinkNYC product. LinkNYC is transforming the cityscape of New York with the greatest product we could build to replace the outdated payphones on our streets today. Our LinkNYC kiosks provide fee ultra hi speed wifi, free charging stations, free phone calls and free internet access-- all paid for by advertising that also drives revenue for the city. This role will be the first Marketing owner for this groundbreaking product in an exciting, newly formed but sizeable company, and represents a tremendous opportunity to have impact on the business and on the lives of New Yorkers.


Responsibilities:

  • Understand the consumer and community experience and satisfaction with our product via ongoing analysis and research. 
  • Recommend and drive changes to the UI and communications to improve customer satisfaction and to form the foundation for significant enrollment increases. 
  • Create and execute campaigns to drive enrollment in LinkNYC. 
  • Own the content strategy for unpaid ads on our Link network-- help build a brand that is beloved by New Yorkers and respected and sought after by advertisers. 
  • Work with the PR team and others to generate newsworthy data and anecdotes 
  • Work with Product and Sales to collaborate on product improvements and sales offering involving content and consumer communication that will drive overall business objectives 
  • Own the LinkNYC website strategy and execution 
  • Create and leverage other assets (eg email database, potentially a LinkNYC app, etc) to help drive overall communication capabilities, and business results 
  • Function as a key leader on the overall Marketing team 
  • Work with other teams internally on ad hoc projects involving LinkNYC

Essential Skills/Experience: 

  • Broad Marketing experience and skill set 
  • Strong analytic skills and ability to mine data for insights as well as construct data from research 
  • HIghly creative, with excellent creative and copy judgment, and ability to lead development of new and exciting content and ideas that will drive public interest 
  • Strong empathy for and understanding of our urban customers 
  • Record of getting things done-- someone who will roll up their sleeves and plow through obstacles to meet deliverables and follow through on promises. 
  • Strong work ethic and Ability to focus on solutions over problems. 
  • Organized, with strong communication skills and comfort working with people at all levels of the organization. 
  • Eager to play a role in driving an evolving culture that values respect, teamwork, driving results and fun. 
  • 3-5 years of relevant Marketing experience 
  • Start up and/or Tech experience a plus 
  • Will consider level up or down based on experience
